This impressive waterfront four bedroom cottage is truly special. Modern, spacious, luxurious and in a spectacular location only a short drive from everything Dingle has to offer. It is the combination for a very special beach holiday. Fishermans Cottage has an upstairs, open-plan living area that opens out at the back onto a decked BBQ area with terraced lawns that makes the most of the beautiful views across the estuary. From the cottage and garden, you have panoramic views that encompass the Atlantic Ocean, Mount Brandon, several white sandy beaches, the Seven Hogs islands and the Magharees peninsula, and at night you can see the lights belonging to the charming gaeltacht (Irish speaking) villages of Cloghane and Brandon reflected in the still water. You can go swimming metres away from the cottage in the shallow Sailin (pronounced "Sau-leen") it is an estuary protected from the sea by a slim outcrop of sand and reeds.

The cottage is a five minute walk from the famous Fermoyle beach, a 7km stretch of sand and ten minutes walk from Drom, a beautiful white sand beach. Through the windows of the cottage, you will see wading birds such as oystercatchers, curlews and sandpipers as well as herons and gulls. If your lucky you might spot some seals sun themselves on the rocks. The Back Beach opposite the house is a quiet and sheltered spot of outstanding natural beauty. Fishermans Cottage is on the Dingle Way, which is a 162 km circular way-marked walking trail famous for it's dramatic and varied landscape of coastal plains, mountains, valleys, lakes and sandy beaches.

The Bay offers a wide range of activities for all including sea, river and lake fishing, surfing, windsurfing, kiteboarding, scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking, hill and beach walks, climbing, pony trekking, golf and painting. All of which can be organised for you by your local YNA manager. There are four bikes available at the property - boys (5), girls (7) and a ladies and gents bike.

The house is luxuriuos with the open plan, upstairs living area is a stylish mix of wood, whitewashed walls and spotlights throughout. Its spacious and airy with corcertina doors that open up the back of the cottage onto the terraced outdoor area that is built into the side of the hill. The lounge has two comfortable couches that surround a log/coal burning stove and a 40" flat screen TV. The cottage is adorned with unique works of art incuding paintings, sculpture and textile hangings.

Beach Rental

The sea is on the doorstep! At low tide, the estuary is a sandy expanse that is safe to walk across. You can collect cockles, dig for or walk to Drom and collect mussels. When the tide is in you can feel like you are on a boat when in the cottage and the sea in front never gets too deep or salty for a quick dip. There is a lot of fun to be had paddle-boarding, kayaking and snorkelling in these sheltered waters when the tide is on the wane. We recommend sea shoes (can be picked up cheap in summer) for the kids as the bottom has some stones and seaweed.
