Florin Cottage Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
Florin Cottage is a ground floor cottage with wonderful views in a peaceful location in Greshornish, a few miles from Edinbane, near Dunvegan, on the Isle of Skye. The cottage sleeps five people in three bedrooms (one double, one twin and one single) and a family bathroom. Also in the cottage is a fitted kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room with a woodburner. Outside the cottage is off road parking for three cars and a large enclosed garden. With attractions such as Portree, the Cuillin Mountains and even the west coast of the mainland easily accessible, The Florin Cottage makes a great Isle of Skye base.

Set on the north west of the Isle of Skye, the village of Dunvegan has a collection of shops and hotels. Close to the village is Dunvegan Castle. Climbers visiting the area often head to the Cuillin Mountains, with their impressive rock formations and pinnacles. Skye's main town, Portree, is a short drive away, with a harbour, shops, hotelsand restaurants.

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Electric storage heaters with woodburning stove in sitting room. Electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV/DVD with Freeview. Selection of books/games/DVDs. Electricity inc. in rent, fuel for stove available to buy locally. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 3 cars. Large enclosed lawned garden. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. The cottage was remote and beautifully sited overlooking a loch... It was all we wished for and more.

The cottage is really well positioned for exploring the North coast and Lochs of Skye. Portree is close for shopping and boat trips. The cottage was lovely and warm and we enjoyed or stay there.

A good location with lots of rural dog walks and the garden for the hounds. Quiet.

Lovely cottage in a nice peaceful location. There are waterfalls at the bottom of the garden and a hill loch nearby. There is lots to see and do on Skye but not enough time in one week. Highlights for us were the climb up to The Old Man of Storr, a trip to Neist Point, breathtaking views across to The Cuillins from Elgol, a lovely walk near Orbost and a drive round the Trotternish Peninsula. Skye is an amazing place with spectacular scenery and we will definitely be back!

All the appliances were like new. For future visitors, go through the gate at back of garden, through the field of sheep and exit through the metal gate. Walk along path to metal bridge. Take a left after the metal bridge and follow the trail. This will take you to a magical spot that you can't miss, a waterfall!

We wanted isolation and we had it here. The farmer was very helpful. We brought our 2 dogs and the garden was perfect, fully fenced and secure and there were wonderful walks you could start directly from the cottage. Loved the idea of having free access to a boat although we ran out of time to utilise this. We would love to come again.

The location of the cottage was spot on for us dog owners and the walk down to the loch along the river and the waterfalls was totally unexpected. The North West of Skye is also such a beautiful place that we look forward to returning to in the years to come. The cottage was so comfortable and relaxing that we really wished we'd booked for 2 weeks.
