Foxglove Cottage Romantic Cottage description

Holiday home
Situated in the peaceful village of Harome and three miles from the market town of Helmsley is this charming, traditional cottage; a quaint, detached single storey dwelling. This property offers warm, welcoming accommodation and has been tastefully furbished throughout. The traditional courtyard and private spacious lawn offer great opportunities for outdoor wining and dining, or for summer ball games, whilst inside, visitors can enjoy some well-earned time to themselves in the spacious living room with dining area. This pretty little cottage has everything you could need for a week or two of peace and quiet. Well placed for both York and Scarborough, as well as Helmsley, this property has plenty to see and do in the near vicinity.

Situated on the edge of the North York Moors, visitors to the pretty village of Harome can be sure of an idyllic place to stay. Lining the main street is a lovely selection of old stone cottages which surround the central feature of the village - a wonderful duck pond. Two excellent inns - one of which sells local produce - make up the settlement's amenities, but just three miles away is the prestigious market town of Helmsley, with its historic market square surrounded by hotels, shops and tea-rooms. The town boasts a 12th century castle whilst the English Heritage site, Rievaulx Abbey, is also close by. The outlying area is excellent walking country and ramblers can enjoy exploring the surrounding moors with their hidden dales and villages.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

December 2012
We enjoyed our stay at Foxglove Cottage. It was tucked away in a nice quiet spot. It was only a short drive to Helmsley with it's great shops. The cottage was well situated for touring North Yorkshire. It was clean and well presented. Good parking too, which was what we wanted. My tip is to reverse into the driveway, it's much easier that way.

The location of the cottage is perfect - it provided the peaceful haven for writing and reading. The village was delightful and welcoming. The cottage was well set out and very comfortable. I loved the lay-out. The only small thing I would like to see in the cottage would be a shower over the bath. From the moment I arrived I felt quite at home. Thanks for a wonderful time I shall be returning.

December 2009
This idillic cottage set on the outskirts of the main village was top notch accomadation. The service was excellent even down to the milk in the fridge for that much needed cuppa when we arrived. The cottage itself was furnished comfortably with impecable decor. Each room was well equiped for the needs we had. The cottage was situated centrally for all local attractions with in driving distance of where we wanted to go. The holiday was great even down to some late warm weather. Most definately a place to revisit again.
