A great cottage at the heart of a beautiful village.

We were very happy with our choice of cottage in Teesdale. The location is great, right in the centre of the village with the Co-op three doors down the road. The cottage was warm and welcoming - indeed we had to go round turning radiators down - and the log burner was lovely in the cold grey evenings. Efficient Wi-Fi also, which I didn't pick up from the original info - probably my mistake but a welcome surprise. We would certainly recommend this cottage.

Enjoyed the location of the cottage, close to the play park for the children and also handy for shops, cafe etc. View of the green and life going by from sitting room window, close to great countryside and local walks.

This holiday was a trip down memory lane so, as we had good weather and a comfortable cottage, it was a enjoyable week.

Loved Gentiana Cottage, warm and cosy, excellent location in the centre of the village. A short drive from Barnard Castle and Bowlees Visitor Centre and great walks from the doorstep or a short drive away i.e. High Force.

A lovely place with lovely people. Couldn't fault the location or the cottage at all, only wished we'd been able stay longer.

Lovely cosy cottage, very comfortable and warm. Usefully local shops close by. Nice en-suite to main bedroom. Excellent kitchen with all equipment you need for cooking and preparing meals should you so desire. Ideal location as a holiday centre. This was our first visit to this area of the country. We were very impressed and looking forward to returning.

The accommodation was excellent, and the village of Middleton-in-Teesdale is very attractive. The centrality of the cottage (e.g., the Co-op within a hundred yards) was very convenient, and we were not troubled by any noise from the main street. The Tourist Office was very helpful. And County Durham has attractions all of its own.

We stayed here over the May Day Bank Holiday and had a wonderful time. The cottage is ideally situated with good on street parking directly outside the cottage and everything in the village in walking distance no more than a couple of minutes to everything. Everything you need is in the cottage and has a very comfortable king bed in the main bedroom with ensuite bathroom and comfortable twin room and a further bathroom upstairs. Everything was spotlessly clean and Janette the housekeeper was extremely helpful. Middleton is a great place to stay with lots of good days out to be had in this area, fantastic fish and chip shop and excellent meal had in the Brunswick Arms hotel on the Saturday night. Highly recommend this cottage.

Well appointed warm and comfortable. Excellent shower which is a real bonus after a day in the rain. It was a ideally situated for exploring the area, and adjacent to local shops.

Simply loved it. Excellent cottage in a great location, and very convenient for Middleton's shops. And Middleton itself was a great base for exploring the surrounding area.

The Cottage was in a great position for all the beautiful countryside, yet so handy for village amenities. It was spotlessly clean, and although in the middle of a village was so quiet.

Just back from a long weekend in Gentiana Cottage. We found it to be a lovely cottage in the heart of the village. The property is a real home from home and has all you are likely to need for a break away. Wifi would have been a nice addition as phone and internet signal are not great on some networks. But that is just a suggestion. We would stay again. The parking is on street but we had no problem getting a space during our stay. Darker curtains in the main bedroom would be nice as the daylight comes in and the street light is directly outside the window and lights up the room through the night. But other than that enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
