Glen Alto is a gem of a property. The location is idyllic as is the general atmosphere of the house and the surroundings. The interior is decorated in keeping with a period property to such a high standard, that one would be quite content to sit indoors and admire everything the house offers. It's like a piece of heaven. We've got the holiday blues at the minute, and even the dog is missing the place! We're all really looking forward to booking this property for next year!

An amazing property that is truly a private, serene getaway. The village of Inistioge is very friendly and we enjoyed the pubs and the 'Circle of Friends' Cafe. Definitely the place to stay if you're looking for a true Irish country vacation.

The property is truly beautiful as is the surrounding countryside and country lanes. The property exudes comfort and its ambience was amazing. In fact to say its a peaceful retreat is an understatement. We were a party of six and had an amazing time. We came back from our holiday feeling thoroughly relaxed and refreshed. Needless to say we can't wait for next year to come around!

We will return. We loved the peaceful and picturesque setting near the stream and nestled among rolling hills of cattle and sheep. Every window framed emerald green forest views. The house is both historic and elegant. The large stylish kitchen complete with a lovely Aga was a joy for group cooking. We enjoyed several meals there in the living and dining area. The furnishings and personal decor with wonderful books, grand piano, fireplace, and wonderful objects d'art speak to the considerate owners who have thought of every detail to create the illusion that you, the travellers, actually live the life of a gentlemen farmer. Bedrooms are well furnished with comfort and thick cozy duvets. The showers and bathrooms are well laid out and everything works well, you'll love the deep claw foot tub. The house accommodates groups well as sleeping areas are on the second floor and social areas on the first so early risers or late night visiting disturbs no one. The nearby villages are charming and historic and we found enjoyable walks nearby including the magnificent Woodstock Estate. The walk to Inistioge is about 25 minutes and well worth it as you'll want to indulge in the decadent desserts at " Circle of Friends" restaurant. We've stayed in many self catering homes over the years and Glen Alto is a winner on any measure. Thank you to our hosts at Glen Alto.

This property is outstanding and the gardens are the same, you have a lovely stream that runs at the bottom of the garden which is brilliant and so pretty. The owner can't do enough for you, he is such a nice person. The village is friendly and there are great pubs and an outstanding cake shop. Can't wait to go back. By the time we left we had made some lovely friends that I will never forget.

A beautiful place with plenty of room. We had lots of wood to make a nice fire on colder evenings and we appreciated the WiFi. Glen Alto is a quiet place, it was nice to relax there after the many activities in Kilkenny, Waterford, Tipperary, etc.

Glen Alto is even nicer than the pictures. We were 6 gals (3 generations), and the house was more than adequate. It is comfy, cozy, and makes you want to extend your stay. Furnished and decorated like one's home, the cottage has a lovely, well-equipped kitchen, 4 bedrooms witha warm comforter on each bed, 2 large bathrooms upstairs plus a half-bath downstairs. It is a mile or two from the picturesque village of Inistioge. This is a beautiful part of Ireland, and Glen Alto is quite convenient to many wonderful places to visit.
