May 2015
I liked the location of the cottage and the fact it was very well equipped. The kitchen/sunroom was really good for chilling out in perfect peace. There were regular visitors to the garden including the red squirrels and there was an abundance of walks accessible straight from the cottage.

Excellent stay, fantastic cottage. Will book again!

June 2015
We booked this cottage because we thought it looked good for walking our 2 dogs, it was better than we could have ever have imagined, we could walk from the front door directly on to various different paths without ever using our car - it was, in our opinion, a dog walkers paradise. The cottage itself was perfect in every way and we could not find fault with anything, can't wait to go back.
Mr Forsythe
July 2016
Loved this cottage location, there were superb dog walks from the door, no need to use the car. The cottage is well equipped and very clean with lots of different wildlife coming into the garden. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking to take their dog on a holiday.

Good cottage in an excellent location. Would have no hesitation in recommending the Cairngorms National Park as a holiday destination, and no hesitation in recommending Kingussie, and this cottage. The photos on the website do not do this cottage justice.

Loads of walking straight from the cottage,so long as you can manage the hills, but the views are worth the effort. Lovely village with all amenities you could need. For the less active the drives through the Cairn Gorms are beautiful.

A great base for local walks and drives. Kingussie is a beautiful clean village. The Cottage also accepted 3 dogs which is unusual. Had a great garden for watching wildlife like red squirrels, deer, rabbits and numerous birds.
Mrs Hastings

We liked that the cottage is in a quiet location and has an abundance of wildlife in the garden (birds, red squirrel and rabbits). The many varied walks from the doorstep (through the forest, in the mountains, by the river) meant that we didn't have to drive all the time. These things contributed to us having a very relaxing holiday. The cottage itself was immaculate and dog friendly. We will return in future.

Lovely welcome, given we had taken 3 dogs (by arrangement) the owner could not have been more welcoming even providing treats for the dogs. The garden is blissful, red squirrel, red deer and birds that would practically eat from your hand.

June 2010
The cottage was lovely, the garden encouraged a lot of animal life such as red squirrels and rabbits and we enjoyed watching their antics. The cottage was a good base for traveling to interesting places such as Ben Nevis and Cairngorm Mountains. We would definitely stay at the cottage again.
Mrs Mallard

The garden is a haven for wildlife, easily observed through the large windows or just sitting outside.

June 2009
The location of the cottage was very central and quite just what we were looking for. The wild life show in the morning with the squirrels, rabbits, and birds was simply superb. We received a warm welcome as did our dog Midge who was very grateful for the dog biscuits left for her. We so enjoyed our holiday and look forward to returning at a latter date.

We liked the general cosiness of the cottage, and the slight 'out of the way' idea for the cottage is great, set up a small road off the main street in Kingussie.
Mrs Pinch

This was our fourth visit to Glendarroch. The location couldn't be better for walking - no need to drive if not wanting to. Aviemore other attractions are only a short drive away.

We loved the animal and bird activities, especially watching the blackbird defend his nest in the tree. We had a lovely holiday, plenty of walks, near the waterfalls, the town itself was lovely. We had a lovely personal welcome when we arrived, and they provided fruit, shortbread, even treats for our dog.

Fab area to explore, not enough time to do it all.

August 2006
The pictures in the brochure do not do the cottage justice. The owners were extremely pleasant when we met them. There was more than enough information left at the cottage about trips within the area. The location was ideally suited for what we required. Very quiet just what you need for a relaxing evening after walking/biking all day.

Stayed here with my husband, 5 year old and one dog. Brilliant cottage in a great location. Cottage is very clean and has everything you would need. Very dog friendly. Great walks nearby. Garden is lovely with lots of wildlife, there were red squirrels and rabbits in the garden within out first hour of arriving. Far enough out of town to be really peaceful but close enough if you want shops etc. Highly recommend this cottage and we will be back.
Ms Hissett

April 2006
The location of the cottage was lovely and the owners were very helpful and had given a lot of thought about what was needed. It was the first cottage I have rented (amongst many over the years) where everything had been anticipated. You were left with the feeling that a lot of care and thought had been put into making it a home.

May 2015
We stayed here for a week in May with our 3 dogs. Everything was great from the welcome by the owner to the welcome pack including tea/coffee and the treats for the dogs were well received. The cottage is very well equipped and you'd be hard pushed to name something that isn't supplied. It is situated in a great location. Very quiet and peaceful. Great access to forests/hills from the cottage for walking the dogs. Good base for exploring the area with Inverness about 1 hour away, Aviemore about 20 minutes and Loch Morlich ( beach in the mountains) about 30 minutes away. Great for walking including a number of Munros nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and after a week we felt our batteries had been recharged. Will we return? Definitely.

Loved the journey through stunning scenery to the cottage. Accomodation very comfortable and clean. Especially liked watching the wild life in the garden, red squirrels, deer and too many different types of birds to list. This can all be seen from the kitchen/sunroom. Easy walking distance to Kingusie, lots of restaurants, bars, cafes, takeaways, shops etc. This is a fabulous area for outdoor activities, you will never be bored. Dog friendly but one small criticism is the garden is not fenced off from the road. Overall a great holiday.

After a long and tiring journey, we arrived to a very warm welcome, from the owner's daughter, and found a large mixed basket of fruit and goodies. It even included a doggy selection for Sasha our pet dog. The cottage was clean, and everything we needed for our stay was provided, right down to the wine cork extracter. We noticed the containers of monkey nuts, bird seed, and peanuts. That gave us a clue of what could happen next, and it did. Every morning we opened the curtains to see nature at it's very best. From the young seagull who made his presence known by his clamour for attention and bird crumbs, to the very frequent visits by a family of red squirels, who kept us in stitches as they demonstrated how they had learned to lift the lid on the container of monkey nuts, and the one on the box of peanuts, in order to extract the contents. Plus we had all the hangers on, who profited from the squirels. That included the pigeons, the blackbirds, the thrushes, the sparrows who all got the leftovers. And we must mention the Mum and Dad blackbirds who lived in the tree where we had hung all the various containers for the squirels, they were raising a young family at the time, and kept divebombing the crows and pigeons who were trying to get the left overs, annoying Mum and Dad and the young chicks. Every day was the same, and we loved the drama of mother nature at it's best By the way did we mention the rabbits, and the hegehogs, and the friendly dogs from next door. The weather was fantastic, and we loved every every moment of our holiday. We will return, and can reccommend this holiday to every one. Beautiful holiday, made even better by the stunning local walks nearby, the very friendly local people, and the facilities in the local Kingussie area. Bill Millar, Margaret and Sasha.
