Greenane House description

Beaufort is a small village situated in a scenic area at the foot of the Macgillycuddy Reeks near the Gap of Dunloe. This is a great location for walking with stunning mountain views. The village has shops, pubs and restaurants, and is situated between Killorglin and Killarney, the latter being a mecca for holidaymakers every year with its wide open countryside, beaches close at hand, annual festivals and great night life, with traditional music played in many of the pubs and bars. A host of activities are available in the area including riding, walking, cycling, golf and fishing, and guided ascents to summit of Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain.

County Kerry is a mystical and unspoilt part of Ireland, with spectacular natural beauty and a fascinating history. Facing the Atlantic Ocean, it features many sandy beaches, rocky inlets and stunning peninsulas.

The rooms are bright, clean and spacious, and all but one was en-suite. The sitting room, kitchen and dining rooms were plenty big enough to cater for everyone and the balcony was very popular for a drink and a chat. Everything we could possibly need was provided, including a fast internet connection. I would highly recommend this house for families or any large group. If we can organise ourselves, we hope to return some time in the future.

Staying at Greenane House made our Christmas very special. There were 17 of us in total, including children, but because the house was so large we did not feel like we were under each other's feet. Even while we were all in the sitting room it was sizeable enough to accommodate us. The mountain views from the house are simply stunning. There are so many things to see and do in the locality. Such beautiful walks, including looped hikes at Carrauntoohil which cater for all levels of fitness. Killarney town is just a short drive away offering even more fantastic scenery, wonderful restaurants and night life. All in all I could not be happier with Greenane House and all it offers. It certainly gave my family a Christmas to remember and has instilled in me an absolute love of Kerry!

We enjoyed a fantastic holiday in Greenane over Christmas 2014. The rooms were impeccable and the kitchen perfectly stocked for cooking for large groups. I would have no hesitation recommending it to others and would definitely book it again.

Greenane House was a fantastic base to tour the region being close to Killarney, Killoriglin and within reach of Tralee. The house itself was lovely with plenty of very clean and comfortable furnishings, children's games and DVD's. I would highly recommend this accommodation for large groups and families.

The location was great and there was a beautiful view from the windows deck. The living areas were great for family vacations, there was plenty of room. It was very well equipped with necessities plus games, books and movies. The gardens were amazing with room for kids to play outdoors. There was easy access to roads for visiting many areas. The landlords were very nice and helpful, made us feel very welcome. It was very hard to leave this little slice of heaven.

The house has a very comfortable living room with a huge balcony and breathtaking views. We spent most nights on the balcony with a few glasses of wine. Location of the house was good for us, it's outside of Killarney but just a drive away to shops, town etc
