Greenfields Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
One of three Primrose Farm cottages that visitors can hire, this stone barn has been lovingly converted to offer accommodation for groups of up to four people. For the chilly winter months, Greenfields has been installed with under-floor heating, while a raised deck area provides ample opportunity for al fresco dining in the summer months. It is an end-of-terrace cottage and has been delightfully decorated throughout. There is off-road parking for up to 2 cars, and the local pub is just over a mile away.

Upottery is a pretty village, situated in the heart of the Blackdown Hills. The surrounding area has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offers excellent opportunities for bird watching, riverside walks and spotting wildlife. The village takes its name from the River Otter which runs a stone's throw from the village and also lends its name to a local beer. Upottery won the ‘Best Kept Village in Devon' in 2006 and has maintained the standards that won it that title. Thirteen miles away, you can find the fossil beaches of Lyme Regis and Charmouth, part of the West Country's Jurassic Coast. The town of Honiton is just five miles away, whilst the Cathedral City of Exeter is a 20-minute drive. Exeter has all the amenities you would expect from any city, including a fantastic shopping centre and a broad range of bars and restaurants to choose from. Exeter also shows evidence of its Roman origins, sporting Roman walls throughout.

Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

A real home from home. Extremely clean with everything you could require from a holiday cottage. The general location was absolutely beautiful, a great place to stay if you want peace and quiet. The cottage was thoughtfully planned for guests with disabilities. I hope to go again some day.

The setting of this property is outstanding with a view to die for with an elevated position looking into the valley and the hills. The only sound you hear is birdsong. The property was ideal for my disabled mother who settled in really quickly. If a relaxing holiday is the order of the day then this cottage is perfect.

The owners obviously enjoy providing a superb holiday location for their guests. Greenfields is practical for all. There are plenty of walks all around the area. In addition Greenfields is located near to Honiton and not far from Exeter. There are beautiful beaches within a short driving distance, and many places of interest to visit. And then there are those Devon Cream Teas!

Of the three cottages we stayed at in the UK, this was the best. It's location was superb and we would have loved to roll up the view and bring it back to Australia with us. The welcoming card and the pub recommendations were a nice idea and most helpful.

Accommodation is small but very well planned out. If a holidaymaker was disabled the accommodation is ideal. Greenfields was spotlessly clean with wonderful views from the sitting room and decking area. A nice garden area as well. The owner kindly left us eggs and bacon for our arrival which was really kind. We had great weather and Greenfields is situated in a lovely part of East Devon and very handy for travelling around sightseeing. I am sure we will return in the future.

June 2014
The owners of the property were friendly and extremely helpful which is a big part of the holiday, knowing if you need their help they are there. The cottage and scenery were beautiful, wanted to stay longer and will definitely be going back at some point.
June 2013
My elderly mother and I stayed in Greenfields recently and without doubt it is one of the best cottages we have rented. The cottage is well decorated and immaculate. The beds are very comfortable. Everything is easily accessible for those with limited mobility. The view from the lounge and decking area is superb. In fact we would have been happy to spend the whole holiday just soaking up the fantastic view and the tranquility of the surrounding countryside. There were however some pleasant strolls straight from the cottage and plenty of attractions within easy driving distance. The location is ideal for a walking holiday. The owners are welcoming and friendly, without being obtrusive, and we felt 'at home' from the moment we arrived.
