Gwynfryn Cottage description

Holiday home
Gwynfryn Cottage is a delightful, detached barn conversion set on the owner's smallholding, on the edge of Brechfa Forest and just 1.3 miles from Pencader in Wales. There's open plan studio-style accommodation including a kitchen, dining area, sitting area and two steps up to a double bed with en-suite bathroom. The sitting area also has a charming woodburner and a double sofa bed so the property can sleep up to four people (max. 3 adults). Outside, there is a shared utility room and across the yard from the cottage there is a private, enclosed garden with furniture. Gwynfryn Cottage offers a pleasant and surprisingly spacious holiday home from which to discover this delightful area of Wales.

Pencader is a small village in the Welsh county of Carmarthenshire, just south-east of Llandysul and south-west of Llanybydder. It is a quiet village set in a west Wales valley with little more than 500 houses a shop, a fine fish and chip shop and two pubs. It hosts the site of an old castle, which is now a grassy Motte. Just 12 miles away the market town of Carmarthen offers a variety of large high street shops, unique local produce shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, as well as a cinema and theatre.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

TV with FreeSat, CD, selection of books and games. Fuel, power and fuel for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 2 cars. The cottage was warm, friendly and relaxing. A peaceful and friendly village that gives good location for days out.

We had a lovely holiday. The owner was lovely and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. We would go there again and would recommend it to anyone else.

You couldn't wish for a more nicer and helpful host!

The accommodation was extremely nice and we had everything we needed. The log fire was probably our favourite thing. My girlfriend and I both felt as relaxed as the atmosphere was. Would hugely recommend this place.

Everything had a relaxed feeling and a real countryside feeling, with the chickens, horses and the sheep. The wood burner gave the cottage a nice homely feel and it was more or less central to everywhere. Having two children with us we maybe thought that the evenings would be a little boring for them but it was quite the opposite; the host was fantastic with them, feeding the chickens, gathering eggs, and feeding the cats and the horses. This was new to the girls and they loved every moment doing it.

We stayed in the Gwynfryn Cottage owned by the Gwynfryn B&B owners. We found it as pictured and it was nice to have comfy chairs. Best part is the terrace which is on the second floor with the bedrooms. Sitting out there you can see the castle, castle walls and see. It is right next to one of the gates to the castle wall walk. It is uphill all the way from the station which is what gives you lovely views. I would hate to drive a car there and have to park but as we came by train, it wasn't an issue. The main bedroom has a double bed. The 2nd has a bunk bed and is very small. You also go through the second bedroom to get to the terrace. It is good for a family or for two people perhaps not so good for two couples.

The Cottage was cosy and well equipped and well placed for exploring Pembrokeshire. We would definitely recommend this holiday home especially for dog owners who wish to take their pet. We had a wonderful week there.
