The cottage was warm and welcoming in an excellent position near the heart of the village, yet there was never a problem with parking. There were wonderful walks from the cottage door and the walk guides provided were very helpful. The two shops in the village were well-stocked and the cafes, chip shop and pub provided very good value food. The appliance instructions in the cottage and other information re local facilities were well-presented and useful.

The house was perfect; incredibly well equipped and beautifully presented. The photos on this site do not do it justice! I will definitely be back soon! Thank you so much.

Harold's House was a very comfortable place to get back to each evening - particularly appreciated lots of hot water and warm rooms after a day out on the hills (sometimes in sleet!).

We had a lovely relaxing week in this fabulous cottage. It was a real home from home, everything you could ask for. Cottage was a great base for exploring the area, particularly enjoyed Days out in Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock Bath.

A warm and cosy place that made us feel instantly relaxed. The comfort of the bed and the quality of the bed linen was impressive. The cleanliness of the place throughout was faultless and the high spec bathroom all added up to an excellent stay.

This is one of the best cottages we have stayed in. It was so beautifully appointed and we would love to return. Everything you could want was in the cottage and it's obviously well cared for. What a fabulous location for exploring the Peak District.

The cottage was beautifully decorated and spotless. It was cosy but still had plenty of space and was a pleasure to stay in. It was the perfect place to stay. The village had everything you need and had beautiful views. Would definitely stay again.

This cottage is a fantastic little bolt-hole in a lovely village. It has only recently been fitted out and has been very tastefully done. The wood burner in the lounge is a luxury and for my purposes it was very handy to have internet access.

We went to stay at Harold's Cottage with our two teenage children over the New Year period and its was a fantastic stay. The cottage was beautifully decorated absolutely spotless and a pleasure to stay in. There were very tasteful and Christmas touches in every room and some champagne and chocolates to see the new year in such a thoughtful touch which was very much appreciated. The cottage is cosy but spacious at the same time. In a very pretty village with everything that you need within walking distance. The views are wonderful and some great walks in the area. All round a perfect break would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back.

I've just returned from a fantastic week in this fabulous cottage. From the moment we arrived, in the dark, and the light above the door automatically came on everything was perfect. The cottage is perfectly decorated, the beds so comfortable, everything catered for with such great and useful touches such as a large shoe rack just inside the back door, matches, nail file, note pad and pen etc. The information on the local area was also in abundance and the instructions on how to use the appliances and what to dowith recycling etc were great. The bathroom was huge with both a bath tub and separate shower. The whole property was also so so clean. I have stayed in many rental properties in many countries and I can honestly say this may be the best. The village of Longnor is picture perfect. I can recommend the Fish and Chip shop, the cafe and Ye Old Cheshire Cheese and also The Royal Oak in nearby Hurdlow. A fantastic holiday in a beautiful part on the country.

We had the most wonderful stay at harolds house . The weather was kind so we managed some amazing walks straight from the door . There are three pubs , a fish and chip shop (scrummy) , tea rooms and a sandwich shop in the village . The cottage was so cosy with sumptuous beds, fantastic bathroom with great big bath , wood burning stove and a fabulous cottage feel . There was everything you could ever need in the cottage.. Helen and Garry , the owners , are so lovely and available should you need them .Well worth a visit . We will be back
