The location was excellent for walking and touring the area. The pub nearby served good food and was welcoming. The cottage was warm with plenty of fuel provided for the multi fuel burner. The bed was very comfortable and the cottage had a cosy feel.

We couldn't have asked for more from this holiday cottage. I've stayed in many in this area and this was the best by far. Everything you could possibly imagine needing was provided, the location was perfect. The hosts were wonderful and the cottage was clean and cosy. We absolutely loved it and look forward to our next stay. Thank-you.

The owners were very welcoming and the location was excellent for the North York Moors and the Coast. We collected the keys and were given a home-made cheesecake, delicious. We also found a welcome pack full of goodies at the cottage. The cottage was full of character, clean and well equipped, plenty of information leaflets and interesting local knowledge information about the history of the village and local walks. We really enjoyed our holiday it was a very relaxing stay, and would certainly return.

The effort the owner made - lovely personal touches and real thought put into what would make it work given we had a two year old and a small baby in tow. The feel of the cottage was also very homely - comfortable to spend time in. Good location too.

We had a lovely stay in this cottage. It was comfortable, cosy and clean. We particularly loved the log burning stove. The surrounding area was beautiful with great days out to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, etc all within a 15 minute drive. There was also a fabulous pub three strides from the cottage! We had a truly relaxing holiday and would definitely recommend it to others!

We strongly recommend this small but warm and cosy cottage, one of a row set above the River Esk in North Yorkshire. You get a warm reception from the owner, backed up by very generous provisions put in the kitchen to welcome you.. The sitting room has a wood-burning stove, much appreciated on a wet dark afternoon- given the season, it was very nice to have a decorated Christmas tree there too. The bathroom has recently been done up and the kitchen is very well-equipped. The bedroom is warm and has excellent views; the bed is very comfortable. Contrary to a previous report, we found everything spotlessly clean. If you want a quiet few days in the country, punctuated by trips to the pub 50 yards down the road, we can't think of a better venue.

Hart Cottage was perfectly located. The owner was very welcoming but not intrusive. The cottage is very well-equipped with lots of thoughtful touches! We would heartily recommend both the area and the cottage.

This is a great location to experience both coast & country and one of the most dog friendly area's I have ever been to with plenty of good walks direct from the cottage .The owners and locals are friendly and the cottage has lots of homely touches including the welcome pack. It is a comfortable cottage rather than a luxury one and we think the agents rating of 3 ticks is about right

The owner puts a lot of effort into making you feel welcome on arrival - free range eggs from her own chickens, and cake to go with your cup of tea! The cottage is beautifully cosy, with a wood burning stove in the living room giving off plenty of heat and a warming glow. The bathroom is new - with a lovely deep bath - and there is plenty of hot water for a soak after a long walk in the surrounding countryside. The main bedroom has a very comfy four poster bed, and all the rooms have stunning views. The neighbours are all really friendly, and the local pub is literally 50 yards away. It serves great beer from the Black Sheep brewery and has great food. And it's dog friendly!

Very comfortable cottage with lovely personal touches, such as bubble bath to ease those aching muscles after a long walk. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and the accommodation overall was of a very high standard. The location is excellent for walking with lots of great walks from the door or starting only a short drive away. The coast is also a short drive away if you prefer coastal walks.

We found this cottage charming it was very well equipped, comfortable and well beyond our expectations. We compared this cottage to a luxury lodge we stayed in a few weeks later and the lodge did not compare in any way from the price to the comfort, Hart Cottage won hands down. We will most certainly be booking for a return visit in the near future if there are any vacancies.

Spent 3 nights in this lovely cottage in Glaisdale. We recieved a very warm welcome from the owner and found chocolates and free range eggs waiting for us in the kitchen. The cottage is in an ideal location for exploring the north yorkshire moors and coast. Whitby being only twenty minutes drive away. The cottage is well equiped and warm with superb views across the Esk valley , plenty of walks available from the front door. Would highly recommend to friends and will return.
