We booked a week's stay at Hayes Court Cottage for my husband, grown-up daughter and myself.
When we arrived the cottage was very clean, nicely decorated and well equipped. The kitchen has plenty of equipment, which was useful as we enjoy cooking. There is also a dishwasher. The dual-aspect dining room was nicely furnished and there were plenty of glasses, plates etc. The comfy lounge had Sky TV, DVD and plenty of books and games. There was a handy loo downstairs which also houses the washer/dryer. There is a large family bathroom with a shower over. The twin room was brightly decorated as was the master bedroom which also had a bathroom with loo and 2 choices of shower! There is a patio where we were able to sit and watch birds, rabbits and squirrels.
It is a short walk to the village where there is a butcher, 2 convenience stores, pharmacy and post office. There are 4 pubs within walking distance. The food is lovely at the Royal Oak which has a garden too. We were also able sit outside in the pretty garden at The Plough.
There is a good bus service up to early evening to nearby Cheltenham and Winchcombe. We enjoyed a 3.5 mile around the village, a 5.5 mile walk over Cleeve Hill to Winchcombe, where we were lucky enough to catch and old diesel train back to nearby Cheltenham Race Course on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. We also had walk to Cheltenham and back.
