A perfect cottage which comfortably accommodated six people. The owners were very friendly. The location was great, especially for walkers - Roseberry Topping and the Yorkshire Coast are both close by. Well recommended.

We had a great time in Hayloft Cottage, it had all the facilities you could ask for and more. The beds were really comfortable and the bath was amazing. The owners were friendly and accommodating and we would definitely stay there again.

We had the most amazing long weekend. The cottage was perfect and the owner made us very welcome and was most friendly. The cottage was spotlessly clean and included everything you could have wished for. Even the weather was perfect.

WOW, this is one of the best holiday cottages we have ever had. The cottage itself was lovely, we couldn't find a single fault with anything. We were allowed to collect our own fresh eggs for breakfast and our children really enjoyed doing this, the games room was also an added bonus, and the open space was just amazing. Overall we had a fantastic time staying in Hayloft Cottage and we would most definitely highly recommend it to anyone, thank you for a fantastic stay.

This cottage was one of the nicest we have stayed in. Warm and cosy. The owner called round to greet us then we were left to enjoy our stay. The area had something for everyone, Stokesley is lovely, as is Yarm. We went to the Coast and packed a lot into our days. I would go back and recommend it highly.

we arrived at the cottage and were immediatly dissapointed with the grounds it was in as the property was located on a busy road...This fact should have been mentioned in the description of the property as it was quite significent...One would have surmised that because the lounge was upstairs and the bedrooms downstairs what there was a magnificent view from the upstairs lounge...there wasnt..the view was over the main road and beyond that fences that were too high to see beyond...On a positive note the cottage was lovely and we wanted for nothing..nice linen. nice towels...every facility we could wish for and we were able to collect fresh eggs every morning for breakfastPat was a little dissapointing it did mention that it was small but it was right by the busy road...good position to visit North yorkshire moors which we did my favorite being the drive over the moors to hutton le Hole and the steam train ride at goathland followed by tea at the "humble Pie and Mash" Whitby...Awesome...

We chose 'Hayloft cottage' because of its location and were not disappointed, it is an excellent place to stay, in an area of great beauty and handy for countryside and coast. We were greeted on arrival by the owners and were made to feel at home. There were 5 in our party with an age range 5 to 70, it was exciting for the youngest member of our party to collect eggs from the chickens each morning (no charge) and to look at the sheep and two miniature pigs. The cottage is up side down and so there is a good view of the countryside from the lounge window, a very comfortable place to stay with lots of space to relax.

We stayed at this property for 7 nights, part of which we were joined by our daughters, their partners, our 5 month old Granddaughter and their docile dog. The upstairs has been converted into and excellent open plan living space with all the equipment needed for a large group such as ours. There was a plentiful supply of crockery and glasses for us not to have to use the dishwasher after every meal or snack. With a full size fridge and separate freezer, we were able to store all our perishables without a problem. However, the cupboard space for non-perishables was woefully inadequate and we were left with half of the work surfaces available due to food/drinks occupying the remainder. The settees were thoughtfully arranged to suit us and the seating area was spacious. Unfortunately the settees were lacking in upholstery sufficient for comfortable seating and could do with replacing. We felt very let down by the sleeping areas, mainly because the available space has been chopped up to provide quantity rather than useable rooms for adults. As there were three couples we were aware that there were only two double rooms and had expected that the space in the twin room would be tight from the photographs. What was not apparent was that the space in the double rooms meant that some of our party were unable to get into or out of bed without turning sideways and shuffling down the bed. The shower units are not fit for purpose despite the fact that the average BMI of our group was less than 25. It was not possible to shower adequately or in comfort in the cramped confines of these units. We were disappointed that the property did not meet our expectations as the area is beautiful and there are a huge number of delightful places to visit within easy distance. Such a shame that Hayloft was deprived of better rating by the conversion of the ground floor. One other point to note - be aware that though the owner, Graham, assured us that their dogs were friendly, that was not borne out when they encountered our dog. There was ferocious snarling and the owners wife appeared rude and none too pleased that our dog was out with us to visit the grassed area where she was supposed to do her business!

The owners are professional and aspire to very high standards.Cottage is very well appointed. Lovely countryside with exceptional views from the garden. We requested the meals service offered and we were highly satisfied. Great being able to collect fresh eggs for breakfast too. It was good that we could bring our dogs to a quality cottage. Overall we had an excellent stay. Many thanks.
