Heathcote description

Perfect for relaxing family holidays, this light and spacious cottage is on a working livestock and arable farm in the wonderful rolling border countryside. Well equipped and comfortable; there is a cosy open fire in the lounge and a peaceful garden to enjoy. Visit the border towns of Jedburgh, seven miles, and Melrose, 11 miles, each with an ancient abbey and an interesting variety of local shops and eating places. Ancrum, three and a half miles, has a pub/restaurant and local shop, while Monteviot House, three miles, has splendid gardens to enjoy and Harestanes visitor centre has a fun play park and lots of family activities whatever the weather. Nine hole golf course at Lilliardsedge, three miles. Quiet local roads ideal for cycling and ample walking tracks along the River Tweed or up the Eildon Hills.
