Higher Croasdale Farmhouse description

Holiday home
Higher Croasdale Farmhouse is a semi-detached farmhouse in the hamlet of Fourstones near Bentham on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The cottage sleeps six people and has two double bedrooms (one with an en-suite) and one twin. Also in the cottage is an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and a sitting area with a woodburning stove. With its neighbouring cottage, Higher Croasdale Farmhouse can sleep a total of fourteen people in stunning countryside.

Area
High above the traditional Yorkshire market town of Bentham sits the small settlement of Fourstones. Situated by the so-called Great Stone - apparently a large boulder, deposited during the last Ice Age that has since become a distinctive feature of the landscape - this attractive village is on the boundary between Lancashire and Yorkshire. From this large rock visitors can see the spectacular views over the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland - all three of these areas offer fabulous walking and cycling opportunities for all levels of fitness. The town of Bentham has a range of pubs and restaurants serving fine beers and good food and is within easy driving distance. This charming little town also boasts a wide variety of shops and a Post Office.

Region
From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

May 2015
A beautifully restored farm building with spectacular views across the dales. It was very secluded with only the cows, sheep and bird life for company. A great location for exploring the area and a fantastic base to return to.

The cottage was a real 'away from it all' holiday, it was beautifully clean and very spacious with views that will be hard to beat in any future holiday cottage. Walking in the area was really good and we couldn't have asked for a better holiday.

The wood burner was great but the house was toasty warm anyway even with zero degrees outside. Was very remote, so quiet and had stunning views.

We found the property to be very well appointed; a rather nice mix of the new and the 'olde worlde' traditional. A very cosy house with plenty of room to move around yet small enough to have real charcater. Great garden with nice outlook to surrounding countryside.

We loved the peaceful surroundings at the farmhouse and although very spacious bright it still maintained cosiness. It was nice to arrive to a few basic essentials and flowers. The farmhouse was very well equipped and furnished to a high standard. Fabulous holiday!
