Highthorne Farm Holiday Cottage is a detached granary conversion, set on the owner's small equine farm, on the outskirts of the village of Husthwaite. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms which are a double and a twin room. There is also a shower room, and an open plan living area with a modern kitchen, dining area and a sitting area. The small historic village of Husthwaite lies on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, overlooking the Vale of York. Picturesque and peaceful, the village is a perfect introduction to "Herriot Country", and boasts a pub, a beautiful old Norman church and many fine old houses. The nearby White Horse of Kilburn, cut out of the hillside in 1857, is a prominent local landmark. The lovely market town of Easingwold is nearby, boasting a pretty market square and a good selection of shops, pubs and cafes, whilst York with its famous Minster, medieval walls and Jorvik Viking Centre, is a short drive away.
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
