Area
The village of Kilfenora in County Clare is located in The Burren region of the county, and benefits from local amenities including Vaughan’s pub and restaurant. Within five miles of the village are The Burren Perfumery, Ireland's oldest working perfumery and home to a pretty, rose-covered tea room, Caherconnell Stone Fort, an ancient Celtic Ring Fort, Poulnabrone Dolmen, a portal tomb from the Neolithic period and Ailwee Caves, Ireland’s premier show cave. Rich in unusual plant life, The Burren is ideal for nature lovers, while walkers and wildlife enthusiasts will enjoy the Burren National Park. Lisdoonvarna, Ireland's premiere Spa town, and home to the 150 year old Matchmaking Festival, is only a short drive from Kilfenora, and offers pubs, restaurant and lively Irish music, while the seaside resort of Lahinch is only a little further. Lying on the shores of Liscannor Bay, Lahinch offers visitors 2km of sandy beaches and great golfing opportunities, and with surfing, sailing, diving and fishing on offer, there is plenty to keep everybody occupied.

On arrival the views all around were stunning. The local walking around the area, also the coastline, also stunning. We have stayed in many cottages this year. This is probably the best holiday cottage we have come across. If you plan to visit this area, then we can not recommend it enough.
