Haworth is a lovely part of Yorkshire that could be a world away from anywhere. I have visited on many occasions, but never stayed over until now. I found the accomodation and service to be excellent and had no problems booking the room. It was very clean, very tidy and had a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere to it.

Lovely warm cottage in a perfect position and a great base to explore the area. Love that it is also dog (and child) friendly, made our stay a lot easier. Shower is fabulous and the whole cottage is well laid out and was a pleasure to stay in.

November 2013
The cottage was well located, just a short walk to Haworth Main Street. It had everything we needed, especially as we had a two year old toddler in our party. The wood burner in the lounge was a nice touch, as the weather was very chilly, although bright. The entire cottage was nice, being spotless and welcoming, with decent bathrooms. We would definitely recommend this property to others.

Cosy, comfortable and clean, and the owner was only a phone call away for any enquiries. We were three harp players who enjoyed the delightful town of Haworth by day and played tunes together by the fire in the evening! We loved it all.

Superb property. Only a few minutes walk from main street and close to plenty of walks across moors. Cottage was very cosy and, although modern, the olde worlde charm was still maintained. Will recommend and visit again in the. I was so comfortable, I did not want to leave!

By the time we neared Howarth it was cold, dark and raining outside and we were preparing ourselves for the 'hunt the parking space game' and the thought of having to keep our coats on for a while as we'd need to turn the heating on, on arrival...but we couldn't have been more wrong! Straight outside the cottage we found a space (which I have to say was available to us every time we wanted to park) After bundling ourselves and dog out of the car we hurried into the cottage to find the owner had gotten there ahead of us and we arrived to a very warm house with a wonderful cosy fire going; we knew we had picked the right place. We all had a wonderful time at Hobbiton (4 adults and a dog). Easy walks into town ( 2 mins) and local walking trails including the Bronte Waterfall (approx 4 mile round trip) with a short (25mins) drive to the Moors where our dog had a fabulous time running round. After a long day out and about it was lovely to come back to the cottage and sit round the cosy fire before heading back out for dinner. We visited the Old Registry which served amazing food and we also had a take away from the local Fish and Chip shop on the same road as the cottage which I believe to be the best I've ever tasted! And the owner was very friendly! Haworth itself is rather small but there are some wonderful shops there and fortunately for us most of the local pubs, restaurants and shops allow dogs in too...including the Haworth Old Hall where everybody welcomed our dog and she had lots of attention from other customers and staff. The cottage for us was all we needed and fitted us all nice nicely with plenty of seating downstairs, however, the second bedroom was on the smaller side so we ended up dressing in the third bedroom as this was not in use. Fine for us but something to think about if you wanted to use all 3 bedrooms. The owner was great too and you felt if anything was to go wrong she would be there at the end of the phone ready to help us out. We were offered some extra days stay as the cottage was free but unfortunately for us we all had to get back to work on Monday, but I thought it was nice to be asked. Would highly recommend this cottage and if I was to return to the area I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Loved our stay in this lovely cottage - really cosy and well-equipped . Fiona was really helpful ( thanks for the wine !) and keen to ensure all was well. Parking is easy - there was always a spot on the street outside and Haworth Main Street is just a short walk away . It is full of cafes and pubs but beware it is tricky on weekday evenings to get a meal out after about 730 . We loved the Fleece Inn for good pub food and the Cookhouse has great cream teas . For days out Skipton and Salts Mill ( Saltaire ) are recommended . The Bronte Parsonage is a must of course . We would most definitely come back to stay at Hobbiton !

We visited Hobbiton in late September /early October. with 2 friends (4 adults altogether ) The cottage was ideally situated in the village of Haworth . there was a handy shop just along the street and a good fish and chip shop also just up the road. Haworth was well-served with pubs and restaurants . The cottage was warm and cosy with heating included in the price. WE found the cottage slightly worn in certain areas. The draining board in kitchen needed replacing as it was wooden and all black and mouldy The lighting in the living room was inadequate and with just 3 table lamps it was impossible to read in the evenings. The mattress in the small second double bedroom needed replacing as there were actually 2 mattresses on the bed ;one on top of the other. Our friend found it uncomfortable with very little support . The small en-suite shower room had nowhere to hang a towel and there was no where to hang wet coats downstairs . . No bedside table on one side of bed in main double room making it necessary to put book , glasses etc on the floor.. So to conclude ; the cottage was adequate but with a little thought and not too much effort things would have been far more comfortable. We liked best ; location and good efficient heating. We liked least ; lack of adequate lighting in living room. .

This cottage really had it all. Great value, beautiful kitchen, comfy beds, AMAZING deep bath. Perfect for walks in Bronte countryside, fires, and great friendly pubs. A friendly fish and chip shop on the corner. What more could you wish for on a wintry weekend hideaway?! I do hope I return, loved it!

Just returned from a week at Hobbiton, three friends who made a return visit to this lovely cottage. Spotlessly clean, warm, with very comfortable beds, it's a great base for travel in the surrounding area as well as visiting the many restaurants/pubs in Haworth, and of course the literary backbone of the town, the Bronte Parsonage and other properties. The owner is attentive without being intrusive, and we were made to feel very welcome. The cottage is in the lower part of Sun Street, away from the busier area, and although there is some traffic during rush hours on the street, it's mainly very quiet with easy parking. Literally a home from home, and we will definitely be returning. Thanks, Fiona!

We had a lovely stay at Hobbiton. It was nice to have a bottle of wine left for us on arrival. The beds were very comfortable, which made a nice change compared to other cottages. The owner was extremely helpful and even texted a couple of times during our stay to make sure everything was OK. The location was brilliant and was within 5 minutes walk of the shops, cafes and pubs on the main street. We travelled with our 2 dogs, so the enclosed back garden was really handy. There were lots of lovely walks nearby and most of the pubs on the main street are dog friendly. All in all, a comfortable and relaxing stay. Would recommend.

This was our second visit, this time we came with friends for a walking and drinking weekend, we visited the Worth Valley Railway Beer & Music Festival. Cottage was excellent as always, ideal for 2 couples and able to have own bathrooms. Log fire was much appreciated after a day walking, and the varied DVD collection. The cooker was superb, great for enthusiastic cooks. We will be back.

This was a lovely stone cottage close to the centre of Haworth and all its attractions. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and very well-equipped. The welcome bottle of wine went down a treat as well. Rooms were good-sized and beds were comfortable. The well-equipped kitchen/diner was more than we expected. The logburner in the lounge was a nice touch and created a warm room ideal to sit in and chat. the lower level garden would be a nice place to sit in summer, but it was just too chilly at this time of year. Fiona was lovely, and always just a call away if we needed her.

We stayed here over new year. As soon as we walked in, the place was welcoming, really nice touches such as a bottle of wine and a few basics in the fridge. The cottage is in a great location close to the main street in Howarth, a little shop not far away for any bits you forgot to pack. A great place to stay to enjoy the cosy feel of the cottage and proved itself for cooking and dining for 4 adults a toddler and a dog. We'll be back this year. Thanks for a lovely break.

It was a long drive from Wiltshire to Haworth and thoroughly worth it! We were welcomed by Fiona who showed us around this deceptively lovely cottage (ie not much to look at from the outside, but really charming inside). Hobbiton made a great base for our long weekend. It was my mothers' 80th birthday and we brought her sister (85) and my daughter (22), so we were a properly mixed age range. Haworth provided everything that we needed (although we did actually spend a whole day over at Saltaire which was the thing we had come to Yorkshire to see). We had a mellow day trundling up and down the Worth Valley Steam Railway and gently ambling around the Parsonage (Bronte Museum). Apart from a sudden gush of Japanese tourists who clearly had no idea why they were being deposited at this Museum, we were able to take our time getting to know the Bronte family. We've come home with a car rather fuller than we went in. Be warned, there are lots and lots of great shops in Haworth and Saltaire!! The biggest thank you has to go to Fiona Stott. She's warm, friendly and welcoming. She's clearly running an efficient and professional service and if only every holiday rental was run by her! You can tell from the visitors book in the cottage that she pays attention to her guests needs. Whenever someone has put that they would have liked a certain thing (more hanging space, hooks on the back of the bedroom door), it has obviously been done. All the things mentioned in the book were there. That really is listening to your customer. All in all, a successful visit.

We had a lovely time in Hobbiton, Haworth. The house was clean and beautifully laid out. The land lady was lovely and very accommodating and we have already booked a return trip! Comfy beds, nice kitchen and cosy lounge with great gas fire. The position is perfect for the Bronte Parsonage and Haworth itself is a very pleasant little place. The cake at the Cobbles Cafe up the road is def worth a trip!

This is a wonderful cottage ,when we arrived the fire and heating were on lovely and cosy. Bottle of wine in kitchen a lovely greeting.kitchen was were equipped with a fantastic range cooker. Bath luxurious and a welcome treat at the end of a day walking. My son joined us from leeds university and it was a great close location for him to get to.the cottage is located in a great position just down the road is fish and chip shop food fantastic and a great butcher opposite. Then the hall hotel is at end of the road food and service top class. You then find yourself at the bottom of the main street which is like a picture postcard the fleece is a definite bonus staff very welcoming and food fantastic. we didn't need to use car at all as everything is within walking distance and our little dog had plenty of walks. We were also very lucky as the christmas fayre was in the park during out weekend .Would highly recommend this cottage and will definitely be going back in the future.

I cannot praise this cottage enough. When we arrived it was spotlessly clean, the owner was there to welcome us. She was even kind enough to leave a bottle of sparkling wine as it was our wedding anniversary. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the kitchen became my haven during the week. Positioned perfectly in a street where there are a butchers (excellent sausages) and a fish & chip shop (divine), this is the perfect introduction to the Yorkshire Dales and its delights. I would heartily recommend visiting the Bronte Parsonage, Embers, the Fleece (the local brew is seriously moreish) and The Cookhouse in the village, for soap fans, the Apothecary is well worth a visit. If you want to travel further afield, I would suggest a visit to Ilkely as the moors there are just majestic and awe inspiring. Betty's teashop is also a must, as the afternoon tea there puts us to shame. We live a 20 min drive from where afternoon tea first came about. So yes, as a holiday this is the ideal holiday!

this was our first experience of staying in a holiday let and we weren't put off doing it again. We were very impressed with the standard of certain aspects of the cottage like the kitchen, the bath, the funiture and the matresses. We had a lovely free bottle of wine on arrival got 10% off food and drink at the Fleece.

My husband and I and our son and his girlfriend stayed at Hobbiton over Christmas week. The property is in a lovely area of Yorkshire and less than 5 minutes walk from Haworth Main Street. The property is very comfortable and beautifully decorated, with everything you need for a perfect stay. The owner made us feel very welcome and had laid on some Christmas decorations which made the place feel very festive, not to mention a complimentary bottle of wine. We had no problem parking two cars outside the property although this might be more difficult in the peak summer reason, however there is more parking available in a nearby street. I have no hesitation in recommending this property.

We stayed in this cottage for a week with two young children (2 and a half and 3 months). A travel cot had already been erected and when she saw we had young children the owner offered to bring round a bed guard and stair gate which was very helpful. The cottage is cosy with the wood burning stove in the living room and plenty of fuel. The kitchen is well equipped and the upstairs well laid out and comfortable. We did not use the outside space so can't really comment on that. The cottage was also well located within the village - a short walk to the main street with pubs, shops, cafes etc and also handy for the park with its play area. We made use of the WiFi connection which worked without problems.

Myself, wife and small dog were met at the cottage by the keyholder who was kind enough to check later if all was well. We loved the cosy feel/cleanliness and kitchen area of the cottage and felt as comfortable there as if we were in our own home. The close proximity to chip shop & Main St. shops, railway station, Spar and other non-touristy shops was a huge bonus as well as being able to park the car outside the property. If I had to criticise anything, it would be the access to the rear garden, which is reached from the kitchen via some half a dozen or so steps with a ninety degree turn, which we felt were rather steep. Once down there though, there was a nice small table with chairs, a patio heater and a bbq - although we didn't check this out. We would hopefully re-visit in the near future.

Birthday weekend with family. Had a really relaxing and fun time. Such a stunning little cottage. Just a stone's throw away from the main street and a short walk to the Haworth Valley Railway station. Little fish and chip shop one minuet away and a convenient little shop for those little things. So much to do for all the family regardless of age or weather. The cottage was so cosy and warm. Loved the main bathroom, such a beautiful relaxing luxurious room. The main bedroom was stunning with bespoke touches. One of if not the best cottage I have rented over the years.

Service - Very poor. Had to pick up key from a busy pub located in main tourist street of Haworth, no parking. Just passed by bar staff and cursory directions to cottage, no-one to show us round. Owner did pop by later to give us plunger to clear the shower drain 'as running bit slowly'. So taken aback she had disappeared before we could protest, so had to do this job and clear shower ourselves. No TV directions, as using digi boxes bit confusing, had to ring owner. Then bulb exploded in large light over table and all lights fused. When owner contacted just enquired whethet we had cleared up the mess ( which was difficult as no dustpan or brush) and directed us to fuse box. All this reported to Sykes Cottages but not even had the courtesy of a reply. will not use again, which is a pity as we have trusted them before and always fine, and we and all our family hire cottages a lot. The shame of it is the cottage was very nice, large and comfortable with a small pretty courtyard garden.Unfortunately the description does not include the fact that the garden is only reached by very steep wooden steps so my elderly mother could not access it!! Location and amenities very good Cottage and Location were lovely, treatment by owners in respect of an expensive cottage not good. Spoilt holiday a bit, but more than anything the complete disdain of Sykes Cottages, which having looked on internet seems to be usual behaviour for them,is the more upsetting. If you are going to recommend them on Tripadvisor maybe this aspect needs examination
