A beautiful, well furnished cottage set in a lovely location. Perfect for our family get together. Our host gave us a warm welcome and her girls (chickens!) provided us with a lovely breakfast. Arriving to a warm house, cake and a bottle of milk added a really lovely touch to kick start our holiday, after a long drive in snowy conditions. Thank you.

This is in every way a superior property, beautifully restored and very comfortably appointed. Ideal for three-generation holidays (grandparents through to grandchildren), given the separate bathrooms and sleeping areas. The garden is safe for dogs. The children enjoyed the swings etc. The owners could not have been more welcoming and helpful.

July 2008
The owners were friendly and welcoming but not intrusive. Great location for exploring local attractions.
August 2011
The cottage has great character, but with all home comforts. Great location for walking in the Shropshire hills.
June 2012
Location behind owners house in a lovely location with views from kitchen window. Walking from door up Long Mynd or drive up back lane to gain some height and find good picnic spots. Tip to find cottage- Turn up lane beside 2 white arrows to almost the crossroads as not easy to find first time. Well equipped kitchen, cozy and compact with en suite up 1 staircase and another staircase to double and twin. Ground floor bathroom handy for daytime toilet. Good sitting out areas for good weather. Bags of character with creaky floorboards.
July 2013
Holly Cottage is a charming place to stay. Quaint yet with all mod cons in an area of outstanding beauty, but not suitable for people who struggle with stairs. The surrounding region is a wonderful mix of countryside and interesting towns. The Long Mynd is breathtaking.
Mr Gruber
August 2007

January 2008
Wonderful location and very high standard of accomodation. Lovely touches throughout to make us feel at home and relaxed right from our arrival. Friendly, helpful, but unobtrusive family. Helped make Christmas extra special by providing lights, a welcoming bottle of wine and mince pies - and a REAL tree with lovely decorations. We will definitely be returning.
May 2011
Very pleasant stay in an unusal but delightful character cottage. No shops or pubs within walking distance but only a few miles to nearest town of Chuch Streton. Beautiful scenery with some interesting walks for our two dogs nearby.
October 2010
We took two children (5 and 10), plus my mum and two dogs and it was an excellent holiday. The cottage was well equipped, and the garden was completely fenced so it was safe for the dogs. The owners were next door so handy but not at all intrusive. the boiler stopped working one evening - we called the owners and they got an engineer out to fix it the same evening, supplying plug in radiators in the mean time - fantastic service. the log burner in the lounge was cosy and the kids loved having two staircases - really quirky layout, and all of the bedrooms were spacious. The cottage was very clean and well presented. It was an excellent base for walking and exploring the countryside and I would recommend it.
