Holly Hocks description

Located on the hillside with far reaching sea views over the town and English Channel, this quaint, comfortable, end-of-terrace holiday cottage is the perfect getaway for a couple or small family. Situated opposite the beautiful part-Saxon, part-Norman church, it lies just a short stroll from the high street which has a variety of independent shops, bars and restaurants. Sitting within the conservation area of the old town, Hollyhocks offers the opportunity to explore the historic and medieval town of Hythe: one of the five original Cinque Ports on the south coast of England. Being about a mile from the seafront with its wide promenade, guests can enjoy either walking or cycling along the promenade which stretches all the way to Folkestone. The shingle beach offers clear water and is good for beach fishing, swimming, windsurfing and family picnics. For those preferring sand, Dymchurch, St Mary’s Bay and Camber Sands are all nearby. Alternatively, the picturesque Royal Military Canal, built in Napoleonic times as a defence against possible French invasion and which runs through the centre of the town, offers not only delightful walks but has rowing boats available for rent throughout the summer months. The local Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway is one of Kent’s top tourist attractions. This miniature railway runs for 12½ miles from Hythe to the unique National Nature Reserve at Dungeness. The Port Lympne Wildlife Park is a few miles away. The nearby town of Folkestone is within easy reach. It has a traditional harbour with a number of fishing boats at anchor with a selection of fresh seafood available from family-run stalls adjacent to the quayside. A short drive over the North Downs following an ancient Roman road, the historic, charming and university city of Canterbury is a must to visit - with its cathedral, dominant city walls and an array of boutique shops, bars and restaurants. For those wanting a day in France, the Eurotunnel rail terminal is on the doorstep, and the port of Dover is only 8 miles from Hythe. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 350 yards.Ground Floor:
