Liked the quality of the fixtures and fittings, and the convenient location. It would appear that everything to provide comfort and enjoyment has been provided. The log burner made for some relaxing, cosy evenings after busy days touring the area.

The general area was superb, far too much to see in 1 week. The cottage was excellent - clean, tastefully decorated and everything was provided. There was a good local pub serving standard pub fare reasonably priced.

The cottage was excellent in every way. The best UK self catering accommodation I've stayed in. Great location for touring the area.

The cottage was perfect and well equipped. There was not one thing we needed that wasn't there. The decor was beautiful. Rustic, yet modern with it's beams and open fire. It was our first family holiday with my partner and baby and we felt relaxed and loved being there.

Great attention to detail in quality of furnishings and accessories. A successful blend of original charm with up to date technology and comfort. The location is also superb for exploring the coastline and the national park.

Central location to several beaches and places of interest. A very quiet location with views to the hills. Church directly across the road so the hourly bells were like an alarm clock. Pub down the road accepts dogs.

A wonderful Cottage in a beautiful setting, everything you could possibly need and great walks direct from the front door. In a pretty village setting, yet close enough to Whitby for essentials. A fantastic time was had by all.

Holly Tree Cottage has to be the BEST cottage we've ever stayed in! It's so well equipped in the kitchen, spotlessly clean throughout and has plenty of books, games and even a Wii!! Its set in the most perfect place, being only a few miles from Whitby yet tucked away in a peaceful area with absolutely stunning views! Holly Tree cottage is like a home from home and we cant wait to return!

April 2014
We had a fantastic time! We felt that the cottage is outstanding as it is beautifully refurbished and had everything you could possibly need. In addition, there were a lot of thoughtful finishing touches such as the welcome tea tray, fresh flowers, an assortment of good books, the Wii, DVDs and a pack full of useful information. We loved the location of the cottage, being within a quaint little village, surrounded by countryside for great walks, but also close enough to the coastal areas of Whitby, Saltburn, Sandsend and Robin Hood's Bay. We loved it and didn't want to come home!

Beautiful cottage which was spotlessly clean and great for a relaxing holiday. Ideal location in quiet village with pub within walking distance serving excellent food. In beautiful countryside yet only minutes away from Whitby. Great for touring the wonderful Moors, and only just over an hour away from York.

Welcoming and comfortable cottage stylishly and lovingly furnished and decorated by its owner. It is one of the best cottages we have stayed in and we have stayed in many really good ones all over the UK. The underfloor heating is gorgeous but it wasn't cold enough to light the woodburner! We didn't lack for anything in the kitchen but there were so many tempting eating places nearby we didn't cook much. The Forge in the village is OK but the menu is a bit basic; inexpensive though. The Stable Restaurant at Cross Butts a short distance away has a more adventurous menu but is correspondingly more expensive. The best place we found was The Wheatsheaf at Egton with friendly staff and a lovely menu.

I stayed in this cottage with my girlfriend and her grandparents for a week. It is a lovely cottage with great views from all windows and is situated in a very quiet village with a welcoming pub just down the road. It has everything you need to keep yourself occupied including a tv, DVDs, board games and a Nintendo wii. The bath tub is very posh and the shower is one of the best I've ever used. The cottage sleeps four people in two rooms. It is also a short drive from Whitby and is pretty simple to get to. The only let down was the underfloor heating which didn't seem to be working. My girlfriend also had trouble sleeping at night due to the church bells, which are situated opposite the cottage and chime every hour.

The cottage is a fantastic renovation, with easy access to both Whitby and Sandsend. The village is lovely, and a walk away from the pub. Best cottage I have stayed in, and I visit this area 5 times a year.

My boyfriend and I stayed here in October 2015 with my grandparents as a 21st birthday gift. As a family we have been coming to Whitby and the surrounding area for as long as I can remember but this cottage was by far the best I've ever stayed in. I absolutely loved the decor, the finish was fantastic! Especially loved the bath after a long day of walking! My only complaint was that church bells kept us awake at night but that's something that's out of the owners control. I will definitely return here, such a tranquil place!

This superb cottage is beautifully presented, extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. We had a wonderful week here and it is in a delightful village with an excellent village pub serving very good hearty food, within walking distance. This is one of the best self catering cottages we have stayed in, and we have stayed in a lot! We would highly recommend this place.
