A very nice cottage (lots of character) for a small party. Well-equipped with plenty of kitchen equipment, games and videos. Complaints are minor -- limited TV channels, indoor dining is difficult with four people, and back garden could do with some pruning. It is on a main street, so the periodic racket of tractors and lorries barreling through Hutton-le-Hole took some getting used to.
With that being said, the cottage is in an ideal location in the Moors National Park and centrally located in charming village. Ah, the village... One word of warning -- the sheep, which wander freely and make for wonderful post-cards and snapshots are also real animals. Thus, they leave piles of dung everywhere (joined by competing piles of rabbit pellets). All eyes on the ground when walking through the village because excrement is a constant hazard. I'm afraid by the end of the stay it really grossed me out. I heartily recommend Hollyside cottage, can't say so much about Hutton-le-Hole.
