Liked the location of the properly, very close to Whitby and yet feels far away from the crowd and the city noise. The cottage was well maintained and clean. The bedrooms were spacious enough. The bathroom was spacious as well with a shower room included.

A beautiful cottage. The kitchen had everything we needed and the rest of the cottage was just perfect, with lots of lovely finishing touches. The area was great for exploring, Runswick Bay was one of our favourites as it was great for our dog to go swimming. The pub next door serves great food and the portions were massive. We met the owner and she was so friendly and couldn't do enough for you! We will definitely be returning.

Excellent, homely and well equipped cottage. We were made to feel most welcome by the owner who is very friendly and thoughtful. The location is within a quiet village which is all just a very short drive from Whitby; a great base for exploring the area whilst having a relaxing break. There were so many seaside resorts so close and all within easy reach. We had a great holiday and we would definitely recommend the property due to the great standard of accommodation and really beautiful coastline and countryside. We wouldn't hesitate in returning.

Holme Cottage is a very clean, cosy, well appointed cottage. In beautiful surroundings and in close proximity of the pub which serves delicious takeaway food is a plus. Will definitely be booking another stay.

Lovely warm cottage and cake and jam on arrival. The owner was very considerate. 'Black Bull' food and hospitality was very good. Plenty of beaches in the area for children to play.

This is a lovely cottage in a great location. Plenty of internal space for a small cottage with a generous bathroom. Would definitely recommend this cottage to others. Food from the pub next door was delicious.

The cottage had lots of character and felt comfortable and welcoming. There was such attention to detail, and the owner provided basic essentials, along with a few luxury items to make our stay more enjoyable. The fire was so easy to manage, and made the front room very cozy and a relaxing place to be. A beautifully presented cottage, that we would love to visit again (it would be a lovely place to live!).

This is a quaint cottage full to the brim of character. A beautifully and lovingly restored property with a rustic finish makes this a particularly cosy and homely holiday let. The surrounding area and stunning heritage coast within 10 minutes travel time, makes this a brilliant location even in January when it is snowing!

A very nice cottage with all of the modern facilities and equipment that anyone could need. This was made even better by the welcoming touches that were ready waiting for us to find. Right next door to a nice old traditional pub.

Just spent a very comfortable and pleasant week at Holme Cottage. Everything we needed was there - and some! The owner was more than helpful. Excellent Pub next door (The Black Bull). They do not allow dogs in, but do take-away meals from the main menu which are absolutely delicious. Would recommend this cottage without hesitation. Look forward to going back in the future.

My wife and I are just about to leave from a four day break in this cottage - it is clean - beautifully decorated and luxuriously furnished - the attention to detail is fabulous in this cottage and the owners have clearly spent a lot of time and money in renovating this quaint cottage - the stairs are a bit steep and the pub next door does a lovely pint but as long as you don't over Indulge too much are fine. The coal burner is almost too efficient - in summary loved it loved it loved it and can't wait to come back !!!

Really nice little cottage in a small village on the Moors. Tasteful mix of trad and modern, comfy throughout. Kitchen and bathroom clean and well equipped. Very homely and cosy. Wifi was reliable as promised. We met the owner too, who cares if you have a good time. We did.

A previous reviewer ( Rebecca, Rutland) sums this property up very well...the owners have evidently put time and love (the family history linked to the cottage makes fascinating reading) into this property. All needs are very well catered for which leaves you able to relax completely..it truly felt a welcoming place to stay. In other rentals you can feel you are making compromises, but not here, the kitchen is well stocked with equipment, down to sandwich boxes, egg cups, a steamer...maybe not high on all peoples lists, but made us happy. The bathroom is spacious, light, with views to the sea, a fab shower and lovely vintage rolltop bath. Ugthorpe is a lovely spot, great for accessing the beaches etc or for rambles along the lanes or footpaths if you want a car free day. Despite its rural location the Wi-Fi was excellent, I could stream films with ease, and for my husband who is permanently stuck to his mobile the signal was very good...but really there is so much to explore here we did not use these much. Julie the owner is lovely, and made sure we were settled in, leaving us with fresh farm eggs and cake as a welcome. I nearly forgot two other things, the bed was fantastic, we really slept well...and the pub is literally next door, it is very popular for meals, has great staff, does take a ways, but there was no noise disturbing us at night. Overall I would thoroughly recommend it, the visitor book has several comments from returning guests, which says it all.

The cottage was excellent, the location of the cottage afforded easy access to some wonderful scenery and attractions. Not least the Black Bull public house next door with its fine food and ales. The owner had made some nice personal touches to the overall presentation of the cottage which really does make a difference. Would certainly recommend this accommodation to friends and family, we look forward to stopping at Holme Cottage again.

Great location, the property was warm and welcoming. Beds amazingly comfortable, most comfy pillows ever! Great information about the cottage and the area left to look through. Beautiful hand made crafts all over the cottage (most of which I will be stealing the ideas of to make at home)! This cottage is ten star!! Stayed in many cottages and never had this sort of quality before. Not to mention home baked scones on arrival with Yorkshire jam, tea bags and eggs laid on the owners own farm. Can't wait to go back later on this year!!

We stayed for the May Day BH weekend witt our two labradors. We wanted a location close to Runswick Bay as teh dogs ( and us ) love it there. It is a small cottage that does sleep four but it would have been a bit of a squash in the kitchen. Nice stable door from the kitchen to a safe, small clean courtyard at the front. There is no back door. There is a bedroom on the 1st floor and a bathroom and a larger more airey room on the 2nd floor with a fantasticly comfy big bed. The stairs are quite narrow and on a turn to get up there. The lounge is lovely with a wood burning stove, throws to protect the furniture if dogs do go on the settees-ours didnot go on. There was tea, coffe, milk , cake, biscuits and fresh free range eggs waiting for us which was a wonderful surprise. Although there are no shops in walking distance, you couldn't be any closer to a pub-right next door , but very quiet. There is parking for 1 car which can be a bit of a squeeze if the pub is busy. The interior design and little touches make the place feel really homely and comfortable. I was it was mine !! I would definetely stay there again and recommend it.

We have returned this afternoon from a weeks stay in this beautiful, charming, quaint, homeley, unique cottage. The freshly baked scones on arrival, the fresh eggs ready on the kitchen table, the log fire at the ready, beautifully warm, lovely fluffy towels, fantastic quality beds, pillows like clouds (will be buying some the same asap!!), clean and utterly charming. Loved the owners beautiful home made curtains, door stops, wall decorations, amazing and will definately be stealing some of her ideas!! We have loved staying here any we're already looking into booking again for Oct/Nov. The most beautiful location, handy for all the places we love to go, Sandsend, Saltburn, Whitby, NYMR, Runswick Bay, Robin Hoods Bay. I would recommend this cottage to everybody and would tell them not to hesitate in booking. The only possible issue is the steep twisty stairs but this just added another charm for us!! Just gorgeous!! Can't wait to be there again later this year.
