Inglenook Cottage Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
Inglenook Cottage is a 16th century Grade II listed town house, ideally located in the centre of Market Drayton in Shropshire and can sleep eight people. The cottage is set over three floors and has a four poster king-size double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, an eaves super king-size double bedroom with a TV/DVD player (zip/link, can be twin on request), two double bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, a dining room and a sitting room with a woodburner. Outside there is ample roadside parking usually available with free parking in the pub car park opposite the cottage and an enclosed, private garden with a decked area with furniture and a barbecue. Inglenook Cottage is a lovely cottage and is set in the perfect location to discover Shropshire and the surrounding area.

The small market town of Market Drayton stands on the River Tern in north Shropshire. With many excellent shops, pubs and restaurants to discover, this is a wonderful area to explore. The Shropshire Union Canal and the Regional Cycle Route 75 run through the town, making this town an excellent base for walkers and cyclists.

A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Gas central heating with woodburner. Electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, 2 x TVs with Freeview, 2 x DVDs, WiFi, dog beds, dog towels, and bowls. Fuel, power and starter pack for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate. Ample roadside parking with free parking in pub car park opposite. Enclosed, private garden with decked area, furniture and BBQ. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes 1 min walk. Note: Restricted headroom throughout, including under twisting staircase to sitting room and in eaves bedroom (accessed via a small staircase).

We had a great family weekend here with 3 couples and loved Inglenook Cottage. The Red Lion pub almost opposite was large, friendly and had good food and beer. Inglenook Cottage had everything we needed and had a nice character with room for us all.

Inglenook Cottage was great - plenty of space for everyone and an ideal kitchen and dining room for hosting big family meals. We even enjoyed a sunny lunch in the garden! The kids loved the attic room.

The cottage was very clean and we all settled in very easily. We used the wood burner to have a cosy fire each night in the sitting room. It was in a lovely central location. Ideal for different generations of a family to stay together and the owners were charming.

Excellent warm and historic cottage. Good value for money and very well equipped. The owner was especially pleasant and helpful in all communication. Very good location for the town and exploring the area. The Sykes cottages administration and communication was excellent also.

Inglenook Cottage was the perfect location for a get together with friends; the log fire in the large lounge made evenings and dark afternoons really cosy. The dining room had a lovely big table to fit everyone in and the bedrooms were really nice and clean. The kitchen was well equipped and clean when we arrived and for such an old house, we were really surprised at how warm it was inside! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

This house is in a fabulous location with lots of lovely walks which you can take right from the door. We all (including our dog) felt welcome and at home straight away, which is in absolute bonus when you are only away for a week. Having WiFi was a real plus.

We had a lovely time at Inglenook. It was a home from home and was exactly as the description. Lovely enclosed garden that was safe for the dogs. The whole cottage is spacious and very well looked after. Lovely area to explore both Shropshire and Staffordshire. Would not hesitate to recommend.

The house was spotlessly clean. The attention to detail was fantastic, there was nothing missing. Lovely quality bed linen, towels and crockery, they thought of everything. A very enjoyable, relaxing break with a really friendly, good pub literally on the door step - and excellent walks from the house.

We loved our stay at Inglenook Cottage! Market Drayton is positioned well to access all the sites we wanted to visit during our trip to England. We were thrilled with how well the Cottage met our family's needs and how comfortable the accommodations were. The pub across the street was an added bonus!

Lovely cottage which has been renovated to a very high standard, all furnishings of a high standard. Everything you could ever need while you're staying there has been provided by the owners and much more. Pepsi the dog, who travelled with us had his own bed and bowls waiting for him. A great choice of property which I would not hesitate to recommend to others.

Had a wonderful stay at the cottage. We were very impressed by our welcome - lovely home made cakes and freshly laid eggs made us feel very much at home. The dogs particularly enjoyed their little treats! We would definitely recommend the cottage. Its location is ideal for lovely walks and sitting in front of the inglenook fireplace is a lovely place to chill out in the evening.

Stayed here for a week with our 14 year old dog. Had lovely time all you need available and very dog friendly. Right in the town and parking on street outside the door. Comfy lounge very fast wifi, lovely quiet garden all enclosed and 4 good sized bedrooms. The master is a great size with built-in wardrobe and ensuite. The only negative, and it's no issue is no loo downstairs but that's the only bad thing I can think off. Stair gate in wardrobe to stop dogs going up. Highly recommend the cottage and market drayton is a great market town. All the amenities you need oh and a brewery about 100 metres from the front door! Reasonable in price for such a property as 8 could sleep here and per person that's a bargain. We loved it and we are so glad we visited.

Stayed for Easter week. Cottage is fab, everythink you expect, quirky with modern touches. Brill welcoming with cakes and sweets, owners made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to make it more comfortable.Stocked with everythink you would need. Central for town centre, plenty of places to eat, and shop. Excellent base for exploring Shropshire. Highly recommended !!!

Our family of 6 adults and 2 small children filled the cottage, but were not short of space. My 2 son in laws both of whom are over 6 feet were a little inconvenienced by the beds, but for a couple of nights that was not a major problem. The cottage was well equipped and beautifully presented. I think if you were staying longer than a weekend, or were confined by the weather to be in doors a lot, it might get a little claustrophobic. Market Drayton is a pretty little town, a little "on the slide" (empty shops, etc.,), but the country side is beautiful.

Inglenook cottage is a terrific place to stay for a few days. It dates from the 1500's and it both quirky and beautiful as one would expect from such an old house. It is kept in fine order by the owners and was very clean and welcoming. There are 4 bedrooms and the lounge is really attractive. We met our family there just pre Christmas and it housed 4 adults and 3 children comfortably. The kitchen is very well equipped indeed and there is a large separate dining table for family meals. All communications with Sue the owner were exemplary and very helpful. Also there were many very nice touches like a Christmas card and crackers left and some sweets for the children. We were very impressed by the level of thoughtfulness. Market Drayton itself is nice and a very good location for exploring this delightful area. All in all a great place to rent and we would thoroughly recommend it.

This is a lovely quaint house, beautifully welcoming and very cosy. It is very pet-friendly, with all sorts of welcoming gifts for our pooch, and there were some goodies for us too, which was much appreciated. The owner could not have been more welcoming and helpful. It was extremely clean and well kept, with everything you could need for a good holiday - very comfy beds, comfy sofas, great TV, wood burner, WiFi.... The attic room is lovely, but you need to be able to manage steep steps to access it. If there are a few of you staying, the kitchen is rather small, and the dishwasher tiny, so be prepared to be super organised with your cooking and washing up. But as there are some great eating out options in the area, maybe that's not such a problem. Being opposite a fab Joules pub is a real bonus. We also recommend the Buttercross and Ford Hall Farm Shops (and Ford Hall trails and cafe too). There are some lovely walks in the area, along the canal, and great places to visit too. Really enjoyed our relaxing stay.

The holiday cottage is well appointed and immaculately clean. The quirky nature of the cottage makes it a really great place to visit as it is so different from our normal property.
May 2013
Deceptively big and very comfortable, this cottage provided a great venue for my 50th birthday celebration. Slept 7 with ease (teen boys sharing the attic) and plenty of room for us all - including lovely outdoor sun trap (yes even this summer!) and BBQ. Didn't do much venturing from the house but excellent brewery taps pub almost next door and good value Indian (Thurs and Sunday offers - booking recommended) at the Oruna. Excellent welcome from hosts and nicely equipped kitchen - not really enough freezer space if you're cooking for 8 for a week, but the presence of a dishwasher was a good trade off! Quiet location and good parking also a bonus. All in all, quite a find and very happy to recommend highly!
