We felt comfortable and instantly at home. The view at the front is so beautiful. Lots of crockery and cutlery and glass. The open fire was laid ready for us. We will be back.
The view from the bedroom window was a great start to the day. The cottage is well maintained and cosy and the surrounding area is great for exploring.

Loved everything; the cottage, area and amount of things to do.
Ivy Cottage was a really cosy, comfortable and well-equipped property. The location was beautiful and also very peaceful. The owners were helpful and friendly. We couldn't recommend it highly enough.
A wonderfully converted cottage in a beautiful area. Everything was to hand in the property and it was a comfortable place to stay. Had friendly helpful neighbours and a friendly and helpful owner - ideal in every respect!
Great location, fantastic value. Really helpful and supportive owners. Easy parking.
The cottage was perfect for the two of us, it was warm and cosy with all the facilities expected. It is well situated in a lovely village with shops, friendly pubs and cafes all to hand. It was very well situated for the Peak District generally with access to lots of hill waking.
This is a lovely, well equipped, cosy and warm cottage perfect for that getaway feeling. It is located at the end of a quiet lane with a gorgeous view of the country hills. Thanks to the neighbours efforts there are plenty of birds visiting the forecourt which only enhances the idyllic surroundings. There are plenty of sign-posted walks from the village or within a short driving distance and basic provisions can be bought from the local co-operative store. There are a couple of local cafes, pubs and a fresh fruit and veg store within easy walking distance of the property. The cottage and village of Tideswell are well worth a visit.
A very pleasant and well equipped cottage. Much enjoyed with access to beautiful walks nearby.
The owners were extremely friendly . The views and bird feeders were lovely.
Lovely cottage, idyllic situation, wish we had booked a fortnight..
The cottage was comfortable and warm. The location was interesting, the locals welcoming, and the area clean and central.
Great Cottage, every convenience that really made the holiday. Excellent mini library with books of the local area. Warm, cosy and inviting after a day walking in hills and Dales.
Returned for the same weekend as last year for my Grandaughter's concert in the local church. Planning to return next year and I think that says everything about the property.
The cottage was lovely. There were lots of bird tables and feeders outside the sitting room window which was nice. It is in a very quiet location, there is no traffic or people walking passed; which made it very relaxing. It is in a great central location for exploring the surrounding countryside and places of local interest.
Great location, close enough to walk to all of the village amenities, including pubs, shop, bakers, butchers, chip shop and post office. Very well equipped kitchen, nice view, lovely and warm. Would definitely stay here again.
Very quiet property, good location, the owner was very friendly. I would recommend to a friend.
Lovely cottage in beautiful setting. Very relaxing. Would definitely recommend Ivy cottage for a peaceful break.
The cottage was in a lovely position and was very relaxing which we definitely needed.
The cottage was first class, felt like a home-from-home. We look forward to booking again. Stunning countryside and very friendly locals. Lovely walks and pubs, a great relaxing holiday away from it all.
Lovely cottage, everything thought of. Pretty outlook and a handy position.
Very enjoyable stay. The cottage was really lovely and cosy - nice that the Owner popped by to ask if everything was ok. Shops only 5 minutes away ,the couple of pubs we had a drink in were cosy and the people were friendly would definitely return and recommend to friends.
Good view from the cottage and the piped music in the bathroom. Excellent base for touring the area and good food in the village pubs.
A lovely, peaceful cottage with an amazing view over fields. The open fire was wonderful, we really enjoyed toasting marshmallows on it. It was a god send when we had snow!
We are going to go again, best holiday we've had in years, it was so peaceful and quiet. The birds were lovely to watch. Tideswell was very nice as well.
Well equipped and comfortable cottage in a nice position.
A good location for the peak district. The cottage is very well kept with everything one would need, and has lovely views.
The cottage was centrally located within the Peak District. It was near on perfect. Nice little touches provided by the owners. Would certainly recommend this property to family and friends. The nice weather helped make it a lovely break.
So many thoughtful touches in this cottage. There was very good lighting which is important when you are holidaying in winter and spend a greater amount of time in doors in the evening. An extremely quiet location although handy for everything. Beautiful outlook.
The cottage was well appointed with everything we could need, including speakers attached to the hi-fi in the bathroom ceiling. The lounge was a good size and very well furnished and lit.
Tideswell is a very nice traditional village with a few pubs and some small shops. The area (Derbyshire Peaks) is beautiful and not crowded. Plenty of day trips within easy reach of the cottage. It's an excellent area for walking. Friendly neighbours at the cottage. Last but not least we had a week of lovely dry weather after a month or two of rain - a miracle?!
Very peaceful and quiet. The village of Tideswell had everything you needed for self catering. The area around Tideswell is very well worth visiting - lots of places of interest and wonderful scenery.
The location of the property was excellent and the owners were extremely helpful.
The cottage was a really good base for our holiday, well equipped and very clean.
Overall, we were very happy with it.
Comfortable cottage and very convenient for Tideswell. Great area for walking. Good bike hire on Monsail Trail nearby at Blackwell Mill.
Great location with wonderful views. Cottage had everything that was needed and felt like a home.
We had an amazing holiday at a great cottage in a picturesque location! We had to make use of the open fire in August, but it was deserved after the amazing walks in the Peaks. We liked the Hi-Fi and speakers in the bathroom. We can recommend the cottage, and the beer at the Red Lion in Litton.
It was a very good week in a lovely location and good to be away from traffic noises! Also very nice views.
A cosy cottage in an ideal location for exploring the surrounding area in The Peak District.
Lovely location. Everything we needed was supplied. Outdoor seating area excellent with very good views.
This is a lovely cottage in a great location for exploring the Peak District. It is warm and comfy and so many places to visit are within easy reach. I shall be back
The property was lovely and quiet.
This cottage is very well situated on the outskirts of Tideswell village. It is a small property, suitable for 3 adults, which is very pleasant and easy to run.
This is a spacious, comfortable and cosy cottage. It is well equipped, the beds are comfortable and was great having 2 sofa's so we could have one each. There are a couple of good cafe's in the village serving lovely afternoon teas. I would recommend this cottage.
Very nice cottage, walking distance to local shops, cafes and pubs.
Very comfortable and warm with good facilities. Lovely outside decking space in good weather. Loads to do in the area.

We would have no hesitation in recommending the cottage to our friends.
An ideal Centre for exploring the surrounding area.
Ivy cottage is in a lovely location in s beautiful village. The amenities in the cottage are excellentand the owners very welcoming.
There were plenty of places to visit in nearby towns and villages and Tideswell itself is a perfect place to spend some time.
I spent two nights of the full week in this wonderful little place. My partner spent seven nights there working hard to get a writing project completed. The place is absolutely ideal for this. The cottage is really quiet with views over the fields opposite and the sunset. There is even a large decked area for breakfasting outside in summer. It was really warm inside while both of us were there (the heating never entirely went off, but regulated itself automatically over the whole day!) There was everything we could have wished for in February, log fire, fully fitted kitchen so we didn't have to venture out into the worst winter in a long time, warm and comfortable beds and a nicely appointed bathroom. The furniture downstairs was not new but fitted the ambience of the cottage perfectly and was in good condition. The house is carpeted everywhere except the kitchen and this made for a comfortable, draught-free stay. While there I met the owner of the cottage twice, and Ken seemed to be a very practical and affable person with a full working knowledge of the property. During our stay everything supplied worked perfectly, even the radio piped into the bathroom!

The cottage was very well equipped and had everything you needed. Plenty of books, music and information of surrounding areas available. It was a short walk into the village where you could get your newspaper, visit the bank or even go to the hairdressers without an appointment. Tideswell is certainly well able to cover all your needs - even Wifi was available in the library. Would certainly recommend the cottage to anyone who wanted a quiet and peaceful location.
The first impression was of a cosy, well-equipped cottage with some quirky decorative features particularly the plants in the bathroom. An interesting selection of books and CD's were provided. The drawback was the lack of adequate heating and bedding for October.
The fire-grate was full of ash and a large log which the previous occupants failed to ignite due to lack of kindling. I also failed to ignite it. Being too cold at night, we cut our stay two days short. I assume the problem may have arisen due to the owners having been away for three weeks.
I stayed in Ivy Cottage over Christmas and couldn't have asked for a nicer place to have a rest from work and relax. It's ideally situated for lovely walks in the Peak District and the village shops kept me well stocked with fresh local produce. The cottage is well proportioned and has the added bonus of an open fire in the sitting room, although I never used it because I was very cosy with the central heating which was easy to adjust as necessary. I chose to use the smaller bedroom which had a very comfy bed that meant I had my best nights of sleep in ages. Ken, the owner, was very nice and couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks x
This was a great cottage, well-kitted out with log fire for colder Winter or Spring nights. Ideally situated near all popular towns and walks this was a perfect base for out family
It's really good to get away from traffic noise and hassle, with minimum disturbance, well sheep and birds doesn't really count I guess!
Recommend it highly if asked.
Ivy Cottage is perfect for three people- comfortable, cosy and clean with a beautiful view from the living/dining room and a decked area with a table and chairs at the front of the property.
The cottage is situated at the top of a pretty lane in an elevated position. It is well equipped and contained all we needed for our week's stay.
The Village itself is interesting and has a good choice of pubs serving food and cafes for coffee and cake in addition to a grocery store, butcher, baker and post office. The little craft shop has a wide range of beautifully made items and you are free to browse.
There are many places to visit in the area without driving great distances eg. Buxton, the village of Eyam (rhymes with 'team') which has a fascinating history and a museum (Very reasonable entrance fee) telling it's story , Chatsworth House and Ilam Park.
The countryside is beautiful with it's rolling hills dotted with sheep and cows and the abundance of pretty cottages with their colourful gardens a delight.
