It was excellent accommodation for a large group of us who travelled to Wales for a Wedding. We used both cottages and it was perfect! There was plenty of space and it was very clean!

The property was excellent, it accommodated our family perfectly. Our grandchildren loved the surrounding area, we went on lots of walks. Monmouth is a very interesting, quaint town.

The accommodation was high spec, everything was there that we required. We especially liked that each room had en suite bathrooms/shower rooms. The beds were comfortable too. The owners were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, with plenty of places to visit and beautiful scenery.

An extremely well presented and comfortable place to stay over the Christmas week. In a beautiful location and nothing was overlooked. It was a very pleasant stay for the 7 members of our family. We highly recommend this place and would happily stay again.

We would highly recommend this great Lodge which is in a lovely setting. Our stay here enabled us to do walking on the middle section of Offa's Dyke. The owner was a fabulous host.

Our family very much enjoyed our stay. The house was spacious with a very well equipped kitchen. In the quiet farm area there were plenty of opportunities to explore the local paths and bridleways.

What a beautiful house in a delightful and tranquil setting. Had a very high standard of cleanliness. Each bedroom with its own bath/shower-room and an extra downstairs toilet was sheer luxury. What more could one want? The owners are extremely obliging and helpful hosts. Would certainly happily return.

An absolutely beautiful house in a fantastic setting. The views from the upstairs windows of the countryside are wonderful. The house is beautifully furnished, very well equipped and is definitely one of the best houses we have stayed in over the years. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly.

The house was in a great location in a rural setting with lovely views. It was a good base for exploring the Wye Valley and the north east part of the Brecon Beacons. The house itself was beautifully furnished with very comfortable beds and modern bathrooms.

We stayed over the New Years period and I was a little nervous as the other guests left it entirely with me to decide on the location this year so they were completely in the dark with regards to the location. I needn't have worried, everyone absolutely loved it! From the warm welcome when we arrived, being shown around the place to the place itself, it was absolutely perfect. The photos and description give you all the details of the property, but the photos themselves just don't do it justice. We were a group of friends, plus my two boys, 10 & 8 years old and every one loved it. The place was exceptionally clean, nothing was too much trouble and there was plenty of space to park the 3 vehicles from our group. I am struggling to think of anything they could do better with this place, if i was being uber picky, there could have been a couple of additional kitchen items such as some more baking trays, bigger pans etc but that isn't an uncommon thing so we had prepared and bought extra already. I would 100% go back and thank the owners for the friendliness and letting us enjoy an exceptional NYE there.

We were the first guests at King Offa's Lodge and I have to say that nothing was too much trouble for the owner. We had really friendly service in a cottage that has been beautifully converted.

Booked 2 nights stay for party of 8 adults and 4 young children. Valerie the owner was very friendly and answered all my questions prior to our arrival, she even gave us details if we wanted to get a food shop delivered - which we did. The pictures really don't do the cottage justice. It was spotlessly clean with plenty of space to eat, drink, play and spend time together. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and a TV, this was great with the children as it meant we could stick to our usual bedtime routines and put the tv on quietly in the morning without waking others. The floor of main living area is real wood and as such was a bit slippy, as was the stairs. So if you have young children who tend to run everywhere rather than walking, take some slipper socks for extra grip! We will definitely be going back to stay at King Offas Lodge. It was the perfect place for our pre-Christmas get together with the grandparents. In fact my husband didn't want to me write a review in case it gets too popular! Thank you Valerie.

This former milking parlour has been expertly converted into a spacious, comfortable & clean holiday cottage where everything has been finished to a high standard. It was perfect for our family of 6 adults & 4 children to get together. We especially liked all the bedrooms having ensuite facilities, with one on the ground floor for older family members. There are T.V's in every room & plenty of space for everyone round the dining table. The owners are very friendly & helpful & close by if needed. The location is excellent for visiting Wales, the Wye Valley & Forest of Dean. An area of numerous castles & beautiful scenery. The children loved the Butterfly Farm near Symonds Yat - perfect for a rainy day! The walk to Monmouth via Offa's Dyke was enjoyable but a bit far for younger children to walk back- so we arranged a car shuttle between us. Pretty wild flowers en route in the Kings Wood.

We were Mrs Barrell's first guests at King Offa's Lodge and I must say that she has done a superb job in converting this old building into a holiday cottage. The specifications and workmanship are of a very high standard, and for those few things that were missing, nothing was too much to ask: service came with a smile and a friendly chat as well as the implement requested. There is also much to do in the area: within half an hour you can find canoeing, fell-walking, cycle hire and castles to visit, all in some very pretty countryside.

On arrival, we were warmly greeted by the owner and shown around the property which was a dairy barn conversion, and every room was of highest standard. The bedding and towels were of a luxurious quality, and also the furniture and contents. Every bedroom was en-suite and television in each room! For those that enjoy walking, you are right on the Offa's Dyke footpath from which the views were tremendous. The week went too quick and would love to return.

Lovely place for our family get-together and so nice that we all had wonderful en-suite facilities and the owner was very helpful. Although weather wasn't very good we we able to get out and about and our short trip to Abergavenny was delightful. What a wonderful small town packed full of interesting shops and eateries.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at King Offa's Lodge. The house is immaculate, every bedroom has an on suite bathroom or shower room. A downstairs bedroom catered well for members of the party with mobility issues. The accommodation has been well planned and kitchen equipment , bedding etc. are all high quality. The owner is friendly and helpful and lives in a farmhouse up the road which is run as a B&B. There is also a smaller cottage on site. We used supermarkets in the centre of Monmouth and enjoyed days out in the Forest of Dean.
