It was one of the most enjoyable properties we have rented, and we have rented very many over the years. It was quiet and peaceful even though it was right in the middle of the town.

This cottage is lovely and properly equipped for 4 people. The interiors are absolutely like home and in perfect condition. The owners are really helpful and the parking permit makes it easy enough to reside in the middle of Bakewell. This is definitely a place to stay even longer than one week. We'll recommend it and are already longing to come again!

We had a lovely week in Kings Court Cottage. It was very central to all the amenities. Great restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops all within easy walking distance. Walks from the door. We didn't use the car all week. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and cosy and having 2 bathrooms was very useful.

The cottage was charming and peaceful and more spacious than the photos indicated. Had a living room cathedral ceiling, mullioned windows, some polished wooden floors and many period features with a sunny courtyard outside. The courtyard views were delightful and there were distant views of hills and woods from the living room. All in all we had a most enjoyable week in a great holiday cottage which we would thoroughly recommend.

Kings Court Cottage was a very comfortable, quiet and well-equipped property in the town centre of Bakewell.

The cottage is one of the best we have stayed in. Location perfect and everything we needed. The parking situation in Bakewell is a problem but with the permit this was easily dealt with. There was space outside Kings Court for unloading and loading. We would not hesitate to recommend to friends.

An excellent property. I would definitely stay again. We were 2 couples. The cottage was a little small but still good enough. The kitchen was equipped enough that we could cook although there are a lot of places to eat/drink in walking distance. Although the proper is in the centre of Bakewell it is still in a quiet location. Parking is a problem. We got 1 parking permit but finding space was an issue. Our other car was parked a good walk away to avoid the parking charges. Our only issue with the proper was that we asked for the twin needed room to be made into a king-size, which it was, but there was no duvet, just the 2 single ones. Such a shame and I hope the owner fixes the problem.

The cottage was lovely and the beds were very comfortable. We had everything we needed both in the cottage and the town. We will hopefully stay there again.

While planning a week away in the Peak District, I was searching for cottages to hire and discovered quite a few to choose from. We chose Bakewell as the base in the end due to it having plenty of amenities but also being a great location both to walk from throughout the peaks, with quick and easy access to the High Peak areas. Kings Cottage stood out as it looked lovely and the location was right in the middle of the town. Needless to say we were not disappointed at all. A gorgeous location in a very pretty courtyard that houses little cafes and shops, including a delicious looking chocolate shop, it was quiet and peaceful despite where it was. The cottage itself was very clean, really well stocked and very "homely" feeling. Despite good pictures on here, they don't necessarily show how charming this little place is. With some good pubs (Try the Peacock - not cheap, but SO worth the money for the food, just make sure you are hungry), cafes and restaurants in the town, it's a perfect base to enjoy a quiet break and/or get out and do some of the great treks or bike rides the area has to offer. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone - just be aware that as in any small towns, parking can be a pain but the supply of a permit with the cottage helps!
