Area
The rural Norfolk village of Litcham has a good choice of local conveniences, including a pub, a butchers, a general store with a Post Office, and a traditional fish and chip shop. The village is home to a beautiful church with a square tower that dates back to the 12th century but was extensively rebuilt in the 15th. Litcham and the surrounding villages including Beeston and Tittleshall all offer a busy calendar of events. The Local Nature Reserve of Litcham Common, that sits on the Nar Valley Way and runs all the way from East Dereham to King's Lynn, offers superb wildlife watching and walking opportunities to nature lovers. 10 miles distant you will find the local towns of East Dereham, Swaffham and Fakenham which all offer a good assortment of pubs, restaurants and shops.

Region
Picturesque rolling Fens, unspoilt beaches, and pretty waterways – East Anglia is a dream holiday destination. Norfolk offers beaches, saltmarshes and quaint villages whilst equally as charming are the coast and countryside of Suffolk.

I visited La Petit Maison with my elderly mother and my dog. We all had a lovely, relaxing time in a cosy bolt hole in the village of Litcham. The location couldn't have been better. The owner was friendly and unobtrusive and the property had everything we could have possibly wanted. We can't wait to go back!!!

A lovely setting with a nice quiet garden, it was very relaxing and the owners were very friendly. The spa was an added bonus. Although located on the edge of a small village there is a pub, post office/store, health centre and butchers so most needs are catered for. Highly recommended.

The owner was a lovely lady, very friendly and welcoming. We were pleased to have the cereals, milk, coffee which she had thoughtfully put in the kitchen for us. The little house was comfortable and peaceful, just right for two people. We enjoyed watching the beautiful sunset from the back garden. Litcham is a very nice village with a great pub; we enjoyed eating and drinking there in front of the fire after a walk in the winter sunshine through the woods in the nature reserve (lovely to see the wild ponies!).

The owners were perfect and were there when required, clearly available even if not immediately obvious and never interfering. A friendly couple, willing to help in any way. The view of the sunset over the field at the back of property was a bonus to look forward to every day, especially when accompanied by the local birds. Seeing it from the spa bath was just the icing on the cake.

We wanted a quiet cottage holiday and that is what we got. Apart from arrival and departure we were left on our own. The owners were friendly, helpful and courteous. However despite being left to our devices we knew they were there if we required. We would recommend the cottage to anybody else and stay again if a vacancy was available when we required.

The cottage was in a wonderful setting. The owners were very welcoming, but we never saw them unless needed after the official handover for the keys. The village hotel (the Bull) served delicious food and a wide range of beers. We were well sited for touring Norfolk. Thank you for your worry free handling of all the excellent details. 10/10

We were for the first time in Norfolk, and we liked it. The reception was very nice. The owner welcomed us in a very nice way and we felt welcome immediately. And the cottage felt very much like a warm home. It was very good to be there after a days sight seeing.

Excellent cottage, in a village with amenities. Great view across the field behind, from the windows and the little courtyard. Central for exploring Norfolk.

September 2015
Very welcoming owner, and accommodation very comfortable, although furnishings 'tired'. The sunsets are amazing, and would recommend the hot tub. I do not consider it dog friendly because the tiny garden is laid to stones which are not suitable for dogs to walk upon. There is no fencing separating the courtyard from the field. Dogs must be on a lead at all times outdoors which is very inconvenient and limiting for the dog. I would recommend the cottage is you don't have a dog only. Wifi was hit and miss, very poor signal, we could only pick up now and then.
Mr Mrs Durrant
July 2009
Excellent property and convenient for all places we wished to visit. Owners were very helpful without being intrusive.

Mum and I enjoyed a fabulous week here earlier this summer. The owners are so thoughtful, considerate and very unintrusive, which is lovely as the cottage is attached to their home. The welcome pack provided was great to start our week off perfectly and the cottage is well stocked with everything you'd need to make it feel very much like home. Simply a great little place, that we'd definately recommend.

Wonderful holiday. Vendors extremely friendly and helpful, the welcome pack was wonderful. It had everything to get us started and more. The village setting is lovely and my daughter loved feeding the wild ponies on the green every day. Central for lots of attractions but the cottage was lovely and cosy to stay in when the weather wasn't fit to go out.

Perfect for two, an ideal base for exploring all of north Norfolk, including the Broads & Norwich. The owners are on hand but not in your face, friendly & helpful. We were blessed with perfect weather, which always helps, but we didn't want to leave and have booked for next year already.

September 2012
This was our first visit to Norfolk and what a lovely surprise. We were greeted by Mr and Mrs Smith, the owners, who were very welcoming upon our arrival. They were more than willing to discuss the local attractions and places to visit. There was a very comprehensive and helpful selection of essential items i.e. tea, coffee, spread, milk cereals, which meant we could have a nice cuppa upon arrival. The evening sunsets were stunning. Good value for money. Would recommend.

La Petite Maison cottage in Litcham, Norfolk is very well appointed and perfect for 2 people and a dog. The owner is a lovely person and she was most helpful and gave us a nice welcome pack. The cottage had the best television we have ever had in a rental property and the lounge and bedroom were spacious. The bathroom had a nice shower room and all in all the property got top marks from us. The village is OK with a pub, chip shop and store. Also there is a nice common to walk the dog without the need to drive if you don`t feel like it. The surrounding area is interesting but very flat of course. The sea side towns are old fashioned but still very attractive. Plenty of walks and it is a bird watchers paradise. We particularly enjoyed Sandringham and Overstrand.

Stayed here in early December. Heating was very good as the weather was cold, The best equipped kitchen of all of the cottages we have stayed in. Owners there if needed but did not interfere with stay. Pub in the village very welcoming. If you have time walk to the common to see the wild ponies. Ok for 2 people snug for 4.Would be great sitting in the garden overlooking the fields during the summer.Would use again when next in area
