For visitors to Dartmouth who, like most, want to park up and forget about the car for a long weekend or more, Lake Victoria Cottage is perfectly situated for short strolls on the level to the harbour side and River Dart promenade, where you can access all manner of more refined modes of transport such as those offered by The Dart Steam Railway and Paddle Boat Company.

Between 1st October - 30th April there is free parking on the streets in Darmouth town centre and also a free car park behind the old market place which can be used apart from market days when the car park must be cleared.. From 1st May - 30th September a parking permit is provided which gives guests free parking in Mayors Avenue car park or at the park and ride car park for the duration of their stay. Parking spaces are available on a first come first serve basis and are not guaranteed. The parking permit can also be used in 14 different South Hams car parks including Salcombe and nearby places if visitors chose to go out in the car during their stay.. There is a parking space opposite the cottage on Lake Street but this is for public use and may not always be available to guests..
