Cawston offers a good pub serving food, village shop, fascinating church and a good café, well frequented by cyclists in what is excellent cycling territory. The Marriott’s Way is on the doorstep, as well as a network of quiet lanes which offer great cycle and walking opportunities. This is an ideal and central location to explore all the delights of Norfolk. It is situated approximately equal distance from the market towns of Aylsham and Reepham, with shops, pubs, fishing and cycle hire available. Nearby is the Blickling Hall Estate (NT); the hall is a superb example of Jacobean architecture dating back to the 1620s. Along with exploring the hall, there are formal gardens and miles of footpaths around the lake to discover. Other places to visit include the Georgian market town of Holt, 10 miles, or the city of Norwich, 12 miles, with its castle museum, cathedral, art galleries, cafés, pubs, restaurants, shopping centres, market and theatre. The seaside town of Cromer is 16 miles, with its pier, promenade, shops, cafés, restaurants and golf course. The property is within easy reach of Norfolk’s coastline (AONB), with nature and bird reserves scattered along the Coast Road, and the famous Norfolk Broads, with its miles of inland waterways, birds and wildlife, daily boat hire and river trips.
