Lazidays description

Holiday home
Situated in the rural Scarborough suburb of Burniston is this modern, semi-detached dormer bungalow. The sleeping arrangements consist of two double rooms, one with en suite facilities, and a twin bedroom, making this a versatile property suite to groups of couples, families, or a small party of friends. The amenities of Scarborough town are just three miles away whilst the scenic fishing village of Robin Hoods Bay and the charming, historic town of Whitby are also within easy driving distance.

Area
The vibrant seaside town of Scarborough has been a fashionable seaside resort since Victorian times and many of its original fine buildings, parks and gardens still draw the visitors in today. The historic Castle which overlooks the town is still a popular attraction whilst the north and south bays provide two superb stretches of beautiful, golden sandy beaches - perfect for families with small children and those who enjoy water sports. Amongst the many visitor attractions within the town is the Stephen Joseph Theatre that premieres all of Sir Alan Ayckbourn's plays. During certain times of year visitors can also enjoy the famous Scarborough Fair which remains an annual event. Bustling with the usual seaside entertainment along the promenade as well as the glorious sandy beaches, Scarborough is a destination with something for everyone to enjoy.

Region
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

An excellent property in a quiet location with pubs and shops close by, it was ideal for dogs and kids.

June 2015
The house is lovely and large. It's fantastic for the whole family, with downstairs facilities for our elderly relatives, and a great secure garden for our child. There were enough TVs so everyone could choose what they wanted to watch. The kitchen is great and the washing machine is a real boon when travelling with children. Love the house and the location.

This was our second stay at Lazidays and we will most probably stay there again when we go to Scarborough. It's nice to find a very clean, comfy property with really good amenities provided. The neighbours around are very welcoming too. The weather was fantastic and our dog did not want to leave - neither did we!
Mr Collins

Overall probably in the top three of any previous holiday cottage accommodation.

May 2014
The location was excellent for visiting the coast and moors. We particularly enjoyed visiting Scarborough and Filey, Robin Hood's Bay and the North York Moors Railway. Hutton le Hole and Goathland provided good starting points for moorland walks. The owners were pleasant and helpful and the house was warm and comfortable. Several leaflets were available in the house which showed details of places of interest in the area. The garden was lovely and well maintained. There are several good tea rooms close by e.g. Daisy Tea Rooms and Station House tearooms.

We go each year to Scarborough, we have been for many years, and stayed in many different accommodations. Lazidays is the nicest one we have rented both for accommodation, and situation, and the two bathrooms is a definite bonus. There is good garden furniture for sitting out in the back garden. We are very happy with Lazidays.

Everything Sykes say about Lazidays is correct. Important for us, the rear garden is dog safe. The en suite upstairs is stunning. Since Jan 2000 we have stopped for 308 weeks in holiday rentals, but never in the same place twice. Lazidays, for us, is exceptional. We very likely will go back there again.

Easy to book and well informed instructions on how to find accomadation. The bungalow was brilliant well equipped with all you needed for your stay and more. The village had a small shop for newspapers and any groceries you might need. Scarborough not to far away. Found a big car boot on Sunday out the other side of Scarborough. Enjoyed our stay weather could have been better.

Although, a quiet location it had the services of a local shop and post office, public house and garage. The neighbours were very fiendly and helpful. The occommodation was very clean, comfortable and had everything you wish to need. I was like home from home. We would certainly consider staying there again in the furture

the owner was very nice when i phoned him,to arrange key pick-up etc.The house is super, spacious and cosy at the same time, dog friendly, which is vital to me as my little old chap always comes on holiday with us.Everywhere was well equipped except for a few things-shelf for bits in upstairs en-suite,and abath mat in here would be nice.the kitchen could do with a few more mixing bowls etc and cooking tins for oven,i know many people eat out all the time but such as us on a limited budget dont have that option!Location wise we were nicely situated for lovely walks,a qhick ten minutes drive to proudfoots supermarket and scarborough itself, although there are of course two little shops in the village and a garage which i found very handy.I think this holiday home is ideally situated to explore all the surrounding beautiful moors, forests and seaside of north yorkshire!
