Leasowes Cottage Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
Leasowes Cottage is a detached barn conversion on the edge of Longnor in Shropshire, 3 miles from Church Stretton. The cottage has a king-size double and a single room. There is a ground floor shower room, a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with woodburning stove. There is an enclosed south facing garden with lovely views of the Stretton Hills outside, and off road parking for two cars. Leasowes Cottage makes a very welcoming bae for couples or small families, or simply those seeking to enjoy the excellent walking and many attractions of the area.

Church Stretton is a pretty market town in the heart of rural south Shropshire. Described as "Little Switzerland", the town is surrounded by stunning scenery and is the major part of Shropshire's hill country. The town offers a good selection of pubs, tearooms, and specialist shops, as well as other attractions including fantastic walking opportunities on the Long Mynd; the fascinating Acton Scott Working Farm, and the ancient Stokesay Castle. Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, Ludlow, Much Wenlock and Bishops Castle are all historic local towns with much to offer to visitors, and they are all an easy drive away from Church Stretton, as are the beautiful Welsh Borders.

A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Leasowes Cottage was more spacious than it looked on the photos. It was very peaceful with a secluded garden and wonderful views . Although next to the owners home they never bothered us which we liked but were there if needed. The location was good with walks from the cottage and easily accessible to the A49 to explore Shropshire further. It was one of the best cottages we have stayed in and we would definitely stay again if visiting the area .

It was a beautiful Cottage with a secure garden for our Golden Retriever which was perfect. The Cottage was very warm and cosy and had everything we wanted for a perfect getaway in a lovely part of the country. Lots of fabulous walks and great scenery. One of the best Sykes cottages we have stayed in and it was particularly nice to be somewhere that was so dog friendly. Lovely owners too.

We loved everything about it. The best part however was the master bedroom; had a beautiful view out of the window, a lovely bed, high beams and was spacious. Lovely cottage overall. We will be back.

Well positioned for our holiday. A comfy clean cottage, well kept. It was warm, and well stocked with all necessities needed away from home.

July 2012
As the 'Wimbledon' weather was so wet and cold, it was good to have a storage heater working in the sitting room! The view of Lawley Hill is lovely, and good walks and historical places are close by. 'Dog friendly' is a must for us. The owner was always very obliging.
Mrs Leggott
July 2012
The location of the property was brilliant for what we wanted to do. They took pets which again was a positive. The overall experience was just brilliant.
May 2014
The cottage is beautiful - we were able to lie in the enormous bed in the large beamed bedroom and look straight through the window at an amazing view. We were greeted with flowers on the kitchen table and an invitation to help ourselves to breakfast items. It was February so the log stove was very welcome and the additional heating ensured we were warm and cosy. At other times of the year it would be lovely to go on the walks over the fields from the door (unfortunately waterlogged after the recent torrential rains.) We chose to stay in and cook in the evenings and it was a pleasure in the well equipped kitchen. There were plenty of interesting places to visit in the daytime however. We would certainly like to go again one day.
December 2012
The cottage was one of the best we have stayed in. The kitchen particulary was well stocked with cuttlery, crockery and other utensils. The cottage was ideally suited as a retreat for just the two of us, but equally as good for an additional child/relative with their own private bedroom. The enclosed garden was excellent for our golden retriever. The weather was not too kind to us and the the lanes on approach became rather flooded on occassions. We spent a lot of time walking our dog on 'The Long Mynd' and in Carding Mill Valley (a real treasure). A week was not long enough and there is so much more to explore. We will be back soon.
