We really appreciated the location of this cottage with the river at the bottom of the garden. Very quiet and relaxing. Cottage was lovely - very cosy with lots of added extras. We received a very warm welcome from the owner who thoughtfully gave us fresh eggs as well as flowers and chocolates - greatly appreciated. We would definitely recommend this property.

It was a very nice stay. Very much changing scenery every day; from rainy to snowy, to sunny, to cloudy. A very tiny river turning into a fierce river over night. Loch Ness is just a few miles away and Inverness and Fort William were close by. Great Highland views all around! Loved it!

The owner is so friendly, helpful and approachable. Levishie is the lodge that overlooks the river (the other two have trees in between) and it is quite possible to sit and look out of the window at the river and woodland all day! It is a lovely warm and cosy lodge. Its a great location to travel to the Black Isle to see the dolphins at Chanonry Point, to go to Corrinmony RSPB Reserve or to get to Skye. It is one of the best holidays I have had. It was also my second visit.

Despite being on the main road it was quiet. The river running right outside was a fabulous bonus, as were the bird feeders in the garden. Access to the area was great due to location. Very relaxing and with lovely owners, and very dog friendly. Overall one of the best cottages we have stayed in.

This was our second visit to Levishie. We love the quiet and peaceful location with the abundance of wildlife on the door step. An osprey visited the river in front of the cottage. The owners give us a marvellous welcome with flowers, chocolates and fresh eggs. There are great walks and various places to visit within a short distance.

We spent a week in this cottage with our 2 children. The cottage is located in a peaceful, breathtaking environment, a few steps away from the salmon river. A big garden equipped with trampoline and badmington net provided activities for all in the evenings after our visits. The owners Sue and Ali were full of good advice on where to go and always available while staying discreet. The cottage was perfectly equipped and comfortable. All in all, a perfect place for a restful holiday. No tel network or wifi which we thought was great! Real peace at last!

The best thing for me was the view from the main rear windows across the peaty river to the steeply-wooded pine forest beyond. I found it very relaxing to watch the water gently cascading over rocky shelving into a deep pool. Mesmerising! A brief single glimpse of an otter on the far bank was an unexpected bonus. The cottage was well appointed with things that work. Hot water that gets hot quickly, utensils that are sharp/useful, chairs that are comfortable, a shower that is powerful (although not without idiosyncrasies!), towels that dry you quickly, etc. None of these are particularly difficult yet how many places get them all right? Proximity to the road was not a problem as there was little traffic and the double glazing coped well. It was a little smaller than we expected but that wasn't a problem in practice. The owners live on site and are both friendly and helpful. On one occasion Suzanne helped my wife 'over and above' whilst I was on Ben Nevis with my boys. I was surprised and *very* grateful for this. They allow you to fish for trout in the river should you desire. Invermoriston is a great location for seeing a lot of Scotland. It's about an hour from each of Skye (visit the Spar Cave) and Inverness (for Colloden). It's a little over that to Fort William (for Ben Nevis) and Glen Affric. If you fancy a road trip on a wet day there's always John O'Groats (3.5 hours each way) with the seabird colonies at Duncsnsby Head and Dunnet Head. Oh, and Loch Ness and the Caledonian canal on the doorstep too. One minor negative - midges. We suffered on the first 2 days but they weren't a problem after that. Overall we loved it!

Lovely lodge/cottage. Very comfortable and well equipped. Was originally concerned as it is close to main road, but its not really an issue. The road is relatively quiet and the windows double glazed. The river running past the cottage is noisy. Lovely cottage. On chilly evenings it warms up very fast. Copious amount of hot water and heating, very cheaply. Shower may be a problem for larger people. Owners very friendly but not intrusive. Three cottages on site, but they are away from each other. Levishie is the only one that directly overlooks the river. Good location for Skye (hour away), Fort Augustus in order to cross Loch Ness and travel to Cairngorms, and Inverness (25miles) to access Black Isle. Husband was upset that it is advertised as having Sky, but it is freesat, so very few channels work. Not that you need to watch television when so much is going on outside. Beware of the midge season and come prepared.
