Libby's Place Romantic Cottage description

Holiday home
Libby's Place is a self-contained apartment within a period property which occupies an elevated position in the village of Haworth, which was famously home to the Bronte sisters. With one double bedroom and a family shower room, this cottage can sleep two people in comfort and style and it also contains a living area containing a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting room. Outside the cottage is a small garden with a patio and outdoor furniture as well as off road parking. Perfect as a romantic retreat and located in a fascinating historical village, Libby's Place is a fabulous holiday cottage all year round.

The village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time forgot, with its curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a period atmosphere. Nearby the Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film 'The Railway Children' provides a day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the Museum of Rail.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Gas central heating (controlled from owners' premises). Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, TV with Freeview, DVD, books/games/DVDs. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking. Small garden area and patio with furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops and bars 5 mins walk. Note: No infants.

The apartment was very well furnished and luxurious. It was warm and peaceful with lovely views across to the steam train line. We loved seeing all the birds and even a deer out of the living room window! The owner was friendly and helpful. It was only walking distance to the main part of Haworth.

The high quality of equipment including full Sky programs. We wanted for nothing in this flat. The views were great but might be different if leaves were in the trees. Wild deer beyond the garden wall. Central position to the village. Steam railway close by, Flat was comfortably warm with the heating on. Appreciate the good quality appliances.

Libby's Cottage was everything we hoped for plus more! The large windows enabled us to see the resident Pheasant, beautiful lawns and scenery plus a steam train in the distance. The cottage was stocked with everything one could possibly need. The lady owner, was so pleasant and helpful in every way. I would highly recommend this cottage and dealing with the lady owner.

Everything about this holiday was brilliant, even the weather was kind to us. The owners were very nice and patient (we had a slight problem with the television - we haven't got sky at home!). We saw lots of wildlife in the fields next door. Truly amazing.

June 2011
We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of Haworth and the area in general. Haworth was an excellent centre to do day trips and we made good use of our National Trust membership and RHS membership.
November 2014
This place fully deserves an excellent rating. The hostess was very friendly and was at hand for any local advice and assistance but otherwise left us in peace to enjoy the cottage - which we did. In fact it is not so much a cottage - more of an upstairs fully self-contained annex consisting of a large bedroom, complete with a 4 poster bed and period furniture, along with a comfortable living/dining room and kitchenette. An en-suite had a spacious shower (but no bath if that is important to you). The apartment was fully equipped for self-catering with good views of the surrounding countryside and, while there was everything needed to prepare meals, Haworth provides a wide choice of places to eat which are withing walking distance. Highly recommended and we will stay again.
October 2013
We were made to feel very welcome. Rooms were great...loved the four poster ..very tasteful. Kitchen had all that you would need.Sofas comfy. Great views from all windows of the property. Easily walkable to steam train line/ Haworth high street and the Bronte's vicarage. A short drive to the dales. lovely all around.
May 2013
my wife and i stayed @ libby place for 5 nights in march it was a fantastic place too stay in the town near to the pubs and chip shops
June 2013
This flat has everything. Reasonably close to the centre of Haworth yet still quiet and peaceful. Close to the preserved railway and the Keithly/Hebden Bridge bus runs at the top of the lane. Weather could have been better though.
July 2013
What an amazing place to stay. Luxurious accommodation; excellent hosts; fabulous location.
October 2013
We've stayed twice at Libby's Place and we'll be back again. Its a beautiful house, in a beautiful village. Always a warm and friendly welcome, in beautiful surroundings. Plenty to go and see, or the perfect setting for a relaxing break away just putting your feet up in a very cost cottage.
January 2012
This was a beautiful, comfortable, well-appointed apartment with easy parking. The shower room was excellent, the bed very luxurious and the kitchen well equipped. The owners were very helpful and welcoming and had put up very tasteful Christmas decorations. There was plenty of space and wonderful semi-rural views, as well as the occasional steam train. We were able to visit family in Leeds, Huddersfield and Malton over Christmas conveniently as well as taking the opportunity to explore Haworth itself. All in all it was the perfect Christmas base.
August 2011
Libby's Place is absolutely a1 in every respect. It has charm, comfort and is home from home for a perfect holiday. Haworth is a great centre to explore the dales, there are so many interesting and wonderful places to visit, especially National Trust properties and of course the RHS gardens near Harrogate. Haworth itself is very pretty and welcomes visitors, and the highlight of our holiday was doing the Bronte walk out to Top Withens and Bronte falls, the museum is also a must, especially after doing the walk! We intend to return to see more of Yorkshire next year, a beautiful area for a great holiday. The worst part of our holiday was having to pack our bags and leave!
