Situated at the foot of the Slieve Mountains, the lovely village of Annascaul is located on the beautiful Dingle Peninsula. This charming little settlement offers a good range of shops, pubs and eateries, and benefits from a mild climate throughout the year due to the passing Gulf Stream. This lovely little village also boasts a number of fairs and festivals throughout the year, including the annual walking festival in October. With freshwater fishing available on Annascaul River and on Annascaul Lake as well as sea fishing on the peninsula, the town is also a great spot for fishermen.

I loved the quiet solitude of the countryside. The caretakers of the cottage were so hospitable and welcoming. I am so glad that I stayed at this cottage, what a pleasant experience.

Stayed here for 2 weeks in May 2013. For me it was very relaxing. Although, we were not aware that we would have to light a coal stove everyday to have hot water for showers and doing dishes and for heat at night. My son didn't seem to mind this chore too much. But we wanted to experience the real Ireland. Did enjoy seeing the sheep and cows and wild animals. View is beautiful. I would recommend this to certain people. Not for everyone.
