Llannerch Romantic Cottage description

Holiday home
Llannerch was originally built in the early 19th Century and has been tastefully converted to offer accommodation for 2 people; a haven for couples looking to spend some time together. Exposed beams, a stone fire-place and a wood-burning stove are complemented by thoughtful decoration throughout, helping the cottage retain much of its original charm. The accommodation is arranged in an open-plan style and even has its own balcony from which to enjoy a glass of wine or simply soak up the views of the surrounding hills.

Betws-y-Coed is North Wales' most popular inland resort. It is where the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west: the Llugwy, the Lledr and the Machno. Much of Betws-y-Coed was built in Victorian times and it is the principal village of the Snowdonia National Park. Set in a beautiful valley in the Snowdonia Forest Park, it is ideal for outdoor-activity holidays and the village boasts numerous craft and outdoor-activity shops. The popular Swallow Falls is nearby, surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain country. The spectacular scenery is enhanced by cascading waterfalls, hill-top lakes, river pools and ancient bridges. Ever since the Victorian artists flocked to the area and formed the first artist colony, it has been a Mecca for those that appreciate its unique natural beauty. At the railway station is a Museum with a miniature railway, shop and restaurant. The old 14th Century church of St Michael's is one of the oldest in Wales and is well worth a viewing.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

The house was tiny, and cosy, and perfect for two. The village was fairly quiet and the locals we met were nice. It's in my favourite part of Wales, and an easy drive from Betws-y-Coed. A lovely relaxing break.

We found the property to be comfortable, very clean and with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. There were some nice touches, plenty of wood for the fire, lots of local brochures. Very friendly landlord, with notes to keep us informed. Attractive patio and good kitchen facilities. The cottage is well placed for exploring, and although let for 2 it felt very spacious.

It is a lovely quiet village, surrounded by beautiful countryside. The cottage is very homely, well equipped, and would be comfortable and warm in any season. It is a lovely situation, in a very quiet, peaceful valley, yet the more touristy parts of Snowdonia are within easy reach. It is in a lovely area for walking or cycling from the cottage itself.

August 2014
The cottage was warm, lovely and cosy although a bit dark. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bathroom modern with spacious hot shower and fluffy big towels. Sunny small wooden balcony late afternoon off the bedroom. The village is very quiet, no shop or restaurant but Bets-y-Coed is 10 minutes drive away and lively.
July 2015
Situated in a small but historically interesting village. Initially felt very dark inside but that having been said and electric lamps having been lit it was perfect base for a visit to Snowdonia. It was clean and modern and had everything you'd needed.Front and bathroom doors were sticking but didn't spoil the stay It was pleasantly cool inside because of its thick stone walls but storage heaters and logfire there if necessary The little balcony was pleasant for breakfast and early evening reading No view really unless standing We didn't use separate garden along road positioned behind public toilets, so didn't appeal.Parking along road was never a problem. As advised by owners no shops and pub only open weekends, struggled to workout TV/DVD functions & no WiFi or phone signal either but we embraced it all !! Tip explore through village in both directions 3-5miles walk or as we did drive roads get narrow and you have to go through several gates but we'll worth the effort. Also check out history of village in church

Spent a week in the Llannerch, loved everything about it. It was spotless and had nice up to date furniture with a nice new kitchen. Found the locals to be friendly and the village was great. Found loads to do within a short distance of the cottage so location was excellent. Came with free WIFI which although the signal did not reach the balcony it did cover the rest of the cottage with good speed. I would highly recommend the Llannerch to any one, it was great value. I hope to stay again in the future.

Everything you need; ordinary, but comfortable. The village pub has a thriving local clientele and made us very welcome, but be warned - it doesn't do food and opens only Thursday to Sunday. Good local bus service until late evening to and from Betws-y-Coed if you want to leave the car. Good walks straight from the cottage.
September 2011
Llannerch is a lovely little clean cottage. Open plan with log fire; a lttle dark perhaps - but that is the way these cottages are. It was cleaner than expected and fitted to very high standard. No chintz which we thought was great. The location is great with Betws-y-Coed only a 10 minute drive away. Walking was good directly from the Cottage into the woods to the west of Penmachno. Great mountain biking is to be had here, too. The main road through Penmachno is actually a cul-de-sac so there isn't much traffic through the village. Although quite a bit of what there is seems to go up past the Cottage to the riding stables some miles away. Unexpectedly Wifi was available via the pub's wireless router. The owner was very freindly and helpful and I would be glad to return.
January 2011
The cottage was just what we wanted, a romantic hideaway for our wedding anniversary, very clean, everything we needed was there, they even found us an ice bucket for our bubbly! The owners were very friendly and helpful. The locals are friendly when you see them, which is not very often, which is nice if you want the privacy, which we did. Betws y Coed has the most fantastic places to eat, not cheap, but not over priced if you go to the right places. The owners and locals will recommend the best places, taxi service was great but make sure you get the local one from Betws Y Coed, they are great and very reasonable, there is only one firm based there. The other taxi firms are from further afield and charge extra for coming out to the village. All in all a fabulous weekend!!! The only quibble we had was the floorboards outside the bathroom were a bit flimsy and bouncy, but we just got used to stepping over them, and in the living area they have two very comfy chairs, we would have preferred a two seater sofa to snuggle up on, in front of the fabulous fireplace with log burner! Will definately stay again!!! Wonderful!!! Plenty of activities too with mountain bike trail just around the corner.
December 2009
We thoroughly enjoyed out stay in the very picturesque village of Penmachno, just outside Betws-y-Coed. Plenty to see and do in the area. Cottage was small but very well equipped. There was a pub nearby serving meals and a cafe. The village does not have a shop and parking is limited, although no great problem.
