Points of interest nearby include Mirehouse - a grand home and gardens on the shores of the Lake - Trotters Farm, and Dodd Wood. Most of the attractions of the wider region are within easy driving distance whilst the quieter Northern Fells are almost on the doorstep. The towns of Cockermouth and Keswick and close by and both host weekly markets and a good range of other amenities.

This is a fantastic self-catering cottage for two people in a quiet spot in the north of the Lake District. It is ideally suited for exploring the Northern Fells (numerous Wainwright ascents start at the doorstep). The cottage is comfortable, well furnished and well equipped. The addition of a sauna and hot tub adds a touch of luxury and is ideal after a long day on the fells. Outside of the cottage is a good seating area, ideal for a post-walk cup of tea (even in late October). The cottage is dog-friendly.

Stayed here for the weekend Fri-Sun. It is a lovely location with a pub within five minutes drive and near Bassenthwaite Lake which was beautiful. It was such a nice quiet place, you wouldn't even think anyone was living in the cottage next door. The cottage is lovely and cozy, bed was comfy. The hot tub room is amazing couldn't believe how big the hot tub was. And there is a sauna and a gym in there. The kitchen was fully equipped. The place was clean and the bath robes smelt lovely. The car parking area was a bit tight as our car is big, but we managed. I would definitely go back we loved it and so did the dog :).

Liked the quiet location and the superb welcome from the cottage owners who live next door to the property. As well as the converted barn that houses a fabulous sauna, jacuzzi and a selection of good fitness equipment. People who like a good comfortable and well equipped cottage in a beautiful quiet location (with good access to walking) with great views of the fells then Low Longlands will take some beating. After a week here you will feel completely chilled out and relaxed. We will definitely visit again.
