Maes Glas description

Maes Glas is a comfortable, two-bedroom, semi-detached holiday cottage located on a private estate comprising similar properties in the rural village of Ciliau Aeron, and less than five miles from the picturesque and colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron. This light and airy cottage, all on one level, has an open-plan living space with a dining conservatory and delightful open views, as well as a decked terrace with a barbecue and space for al fresco dining. Just a short stroll across the grounds of the estate will bring you to a neighbouring hotel with a bar and restaurant and a takeaway service in season.
Aberaeron has an illustrious history; it was once a major trading port in west Wales and many of the colourfully painted houses were once owned by sea captains. Today the town is referred to as the ‘jewel of Cardigan Bay’, priding itself in lively festivals, exhibitions, events and sporting tournaments. There is varied shopping and a wealth of cafés, pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets. Plenty of wonderful cycle routes and walks are available, both coastal and inland, including nearby Tyglyn Woodland Walk and the peaceful route that leads to the National Trust property of Llanerchaeron, a rare example of an 18th-century Welsh gentry estate. After a day exploring the wonderful sights the area has to offer, what better way to relax and chill out than by sitting at the appealing harbour, watching the spectacular sunset over Cardigan Bay and enjoying some local Welsh honey ice cream? With the Heritage coast of Ceredigion available to you, this area is the perfect base for discovering all that beautiful and dramatic west Wales has to offer. There are so many places to visit including quaint New Quay, famous for its harbour, bottlenose dolphins and boat trips, and once the home of poet and author Dylan Thomas; the pretty seaside village Llangrannog, and the larger university town and resort of Aberystwyth with its cliff railway, pier and long promenade. Within easy driving distance there are also the attractions of The Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway, Devil’s Bridge, the market town of Lampeter and Dolaucothi Gold Mines.
