Maggie's Cottage description

Derrybeg is a seaside village on County Donegal's scenic west coast, in one of Ireland's "gaeltacht" regions. There are wonderful sandy beaches here, a lovely coastline and several pubs and restaurants. Nearby Glenveagh National Park is well worth a visit, while Letterkenny and Donegal towns are within easy reach.

The West of Ireland conjures up many images: thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.

Oil central heating with oil range. Electric oven with gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, TV with basic Sky, DVD, iPod dock, WiFi, selection of books and games. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot on request. Ample off road parking. Lawned garden to front and rear with furniture. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 5 mins walk, pub 1 mile. Beach 30 mins walk. Note: Max 6 adults.

A fab cottage which was very comfortable and well equipped, with a great beach nearby. A great base which felt like a home from home.

We were delighted with Maggies' Cottage for the duration of our stay. The house very well equipped and the owner's had thought to provide everything required for every eventuality. The house was well decorated, warm and cosy. It was so comfortable. We were particularly pleased with the level of cleanliness - The owner is doing a wonderful job of providing a first class holiday experience for his guests. Well done!

This was my first trip to Gweedore and the trip into this part of the worldis stunning with Mount Errigle and the lakes. The weather was exellent which made the trip even more enjoyable. Our hosts Dominic and Maggie could not be any friendlier and will give you a good history of the area and places to go. The facilities are excellent a good 4 bedroomed property with all amenities that any group or family could want. There is easy access to stunning walks along the nearby beaches. There are good bars like Teac Jacks, Sean Ogs, Leos bar famous for Clannad where the food, drink and entertainment good. If not taking the car there are local taxis. A good base for visiting other parts of Donegal or further afield. We would definitely return and would recommend it to anyone else.
