Manifold Farmhouse is in a superbly quiet, rural setting with outstanding views. The Farmhouse was full of traditional character and the games room was excellent.

We have been to this property three times. It is such a tranquil spot overlooking the valley and perfect for our family. The grandchildren can play in the garden in safety and it's big enough to play cricket in, but is enclosed by a dry stone wall. The house has a welcoming feel and a large kitchen where we gather informally. There is plenty of space for us all.

A relaxing, gorgeous house with a wonderful setting.

The farmhouse was very well equipped and comfortable, it suited us ideally for our walking week. There were plenty of lovely walks and places to visit even on the rainy days. We enjoyed the use of the games room with lots to keep us occupied which was great. All in all a lovely and remote location that suits groups of 8-10 nicely.

We had a great few days at Manifold Cottage. The facilities were as we had been led to expect, and the house was spacious and well equipped - we all enjoyed the games room! We would definitely recommend Manifold Farmhouse to friends.

We have just returned from an excellent family weekend at manifold farm The cottage was very comfortable, and we were delighted to arrive to cake and biscuits for afternoon tea. The games room was particularly useful with three children to entertain. Thank you for your attention to detail we shall certainly use your company again.

What we all liked about Manifold Farmhouse was EVERYTHING. What a great place to stay. It was such a wonderful place, no one wanted to leave, so much so that my wife and I have already booked to return to one of the smaller cottages in June 2015 for my birthday. Thank you again for such a great stay.
Mrs Lupton

Manifold Farmhouse was a fantastic property in a beautiful location. The kitchen was very well equipped with lots of crockery, cutlery, glasses etc and all the furnishings were lovely. This was a really special place for our family gathering to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. Nobody wanted to leave!!

We loved everything. The setting, the fact we could all be together in one building, the fact that we could all sit together or have our own space and the comfy lounge. It is also a great place for visiting other areas from here. We have a meal in Wirksworth, a day in Ashbourne and an afternoon in Matlock. We hope to come back next year.

The property was perfect for our needs as we found when we stayed previously. It is spacious and well appointed and the games room is excellent. The location is quiet and well placed for a wide range of activities. Garden gives ample play space and has sunny aspect when sitting out. Great views across the valley.

Manifold Farmhouse was excellent: decorated, furnished and equipped to a high standard. The private garden provided privacy and was perfect for the dogs. The grandchildren loved the Games Room. Ample parking.

The house was well furnished and equipped for the number of beds. The tea tray and the tone of the instructions were an excellent introduction to the house and made us feel most welcome.

January 2014
The location for all of us was great. It was a very peaceful and tranquil property. Very homely. I celebrated my 70th birthday and it was all that l had hoped for as a family get together. 6 adults and 4 teenage grandchildren (so the games room came in very useful) and 2 dogs. We all had a great time with many laughs. The house was very well equipped for our needs. Overall I couldn't fault it. Would love to go back one day. PS home made cake was delicious. Thank you.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at the Manifold Farmhouse and we had the most wonderful time with our family. We will definitely be booking again. We had cake on arrival and the milk in the fridge and the tray ready for tea was a lovely start to our holiday. We really did not want to leave.

It was all brilliant. Perfect.

January 2014
The farmhouse is great holiday accommodation for our extended family and we love this annual weekend there. The whole complex is brilliant for the four families who come each year. Overall the properties are well maintained and suit all ages - we have an age range from 5 years to 69. The farmhouse is well heated with a plentiful supply of hot water - and logs for the sitting room fire. The Victoria sponge and the biscuits are nice gestures much appreciated by us all. The utility room is a real bonus in wet weather - much envied by occupiers of other cottages on site.

July 2014
The cottage has a lovely setting , views and is comfortable and roomy. The decor was subtle and not too over the top. A wonderful spot for a family reunion as both adults and young ones had favourite spaces. There are great public walking paths and it is remote enough for privacy and quiet. A super kitchen!
Mrs Johnson

The views from the property were amazing, the bedrooms were luxurious and the space for all the family was perfect.

December 2013
Everything was excellent. Great for all ages in the family, as there was a play barn on-site with table tennis, snooker and an area with things for younger children. Beautiful scenery and sunsets. Garden great for kids, and adults.

Easy to locate. Instructions for key collection were good. Tea tray left with home-made mince pies, was a lovely touch. Plenty of room and games room was a bonus.
Mr Fraser
January 2014
What a great location. The cottage was large and warm. The large farmhouse kitchen was a great place to socialise whilst making dinner. The formal dining room with its aspect over the countryside made you feel like royalty when sitting down to dinner. The bedrooms were all warm (even with the old sash windows and the winter gales we experienced) and the four posters added a touch of grandeur.
Mr Duncan
May 2013
House was very spacious, sleeps 10 and there were only 6 of us, but even full would be comfortable. Loved the welcome cake! Great stay.
Mrs Bates
May 2013

The countryside surrounding the property was peaceful and stunning. The farmhouse afforded us loads of space for our large family group and the furniture and feel of the property was homely and extremely comfortable. We had a fabulous week in this wonderful property and will definitely be looking to return in the future.

Manifold Farmhouse was perfect for our stay - a family gathering to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. We had plenty of room and everyone loved the house. We were very impressed by the state of the decor and furniture: it all felt very homely and comfortable. The complimentary tickets to Chatsworth are a great addition!

July 2012
The location of the property was beautiful and the views were stunning. The farm has a lovely sense of space and felt very roomy for the 10 of us. It is a lovely property - isolated enough to feel like we were getting away from it all, but located near enough to major routes so that we could travel all round the Peak District easily and quickly.
Mrs Jarvis

Lovely farmhouse conveniently placed for Ashbourne, Carsington & Wirksworth. Nicely decorated, spacious, easily accommodated four couples. Prepared all evening meals, kitchen well equipped and good formal dining room as well as less formal kitchen for breakfast. Homemade cake on our arrival. Good shared games room, large garden. We had a great long weekend, thank you.

Support service was excellent. We had one minor problem but it was quickly rectified by Linda who was already on site. The house had ample space for our party. We particularly appreciated being able to seat 10, comfortably around the dining table. The front bedrooms were luxurious with fabulous country views. Rural setting. Garden big enough for childrens games. There no amenities within easy walking distance. Wirksworth is 10 minutes in the car and has shops, pubs, cafes and a micro brewery. We loved the house. We were disappointed to find that the "pub within a mile" had in fact closed down.

Excellent, not a bad word to say. We also massively appreciated the cakes that were left for us and the free Chatsworth tickets!

I booked on the internet and everything was straightforward. The house was amazing - it felt like home and it was so well equipped especially the kitchen. The rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. It is set in a lovely part of Derbyshire with lots to see and do! We had the farmhouse for a long weekend so that we were able to attend a wedding at Shottle Hall. There were about 13 of us for lunch on Sunday and we managed to eat around the dining table. When we arrived a tray was set for tea and a sponge cake left for us to enjoy! A lovely touch! We had use of the games room which we took advantage of on Sunday and the fact that we could have the use of a log fire! Brilliant! The only downside was that the oven door didn't shut properly. We were told to park at the back but we couldn't get there direct from the house - we had to go through the boiler room! I would recommend that there are some spare bulbs! My grand daughter was being pulled up through the hallway on her trunkie and said it was the best day of her life!!! I would recommend the accomodation to anyone and hope that we can go back one day!

Lovely location, great views and sunsets. Homemade cake went down a treat on arrival. Plenty of room for 9 of us to spread out.Laundry room an asset. Some of the ensuites require updating and the boiler above one of the master bedrooms made an awful noise-we had to switch it off overnight. Cleanliness could have been better in the kitchen (oven/cutlery drawers etc) Some chairs need replacing in dining room and lighting dim in the lounge for reading.Bigger tv would be good. Overall a wonderful place to stay -just needs a bit of tweaking! Games room useful but table tennis table and equipment ready for replacing.

Great complex, we were a group of seven, we had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Fantastic views over the fields, with great pubs and fish & chip shops locally, do need to drive.

We spent a week in this house and it was a lovely practical house, which you didn't have to feel too precious about. It was in a lovely location with every room having wonderful views of the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. The rooms were light (large windows) and graciously furnished and there was a pretty garden, with a games room nearby. Very suitable for children. We only had a couple of minor niggles: some windows were stuck shut with paint, the most important being in the kitchen, which meant there was only one small window that would open - not enough on a hot day; there were no instructions on how to operate machines, but in the end we worked it out. One important niggle was that the particular bed we were in was less than adequate: a nice four-poster, but a thin board had been screwed over the slats and the mattress was inadequate, so, although we slept fine, we woke up aching!! No one else complained of their beds though, so perhaps this was the only one (I think the room was called Lily, which was in every other way we thought the best room). Be advised to get food from the marvellous Cathy (Shottle's Pantry) - she will bring absolutely delicious home made food (lamb tagine, boeuf bourguignon, shpeherd's pie, wonderful cakes, etc) in whenever ordered and this makes a family get-together a lot less hassle. Cathy is a gem - order food to take home with you for your freezer!!

Manifold Farmhouse is a stunning stone farmhouse, in one of the most beautiful parts of the country - ideal for a large family get-together. With a large and functional utility room, huge kitchen with a table for 10, elegant dining room and sitting room with plenty of room for everyone, then five lovely bedrooms, two with four-poster beds, three with en-suites, and a "family" bathroom too, it was perfect for our needs. The garden is simply gorgeous. It is remote - down a lane off a lane - so no shops or pub within walking distance, but for us, that added to the attraction. It was so hard to leave.

Lovely period house with loads of character in a nice part of Derbyshire. The house is well equipt with everything a family needs on a sef catering holiday. It has feel of grandness but is so warm and cosy. You will not be dissappointed with theis property if you want a get away to spend some time with the family.

8 members of my family have just come back from spending a fantastic weekend in the Peak District staying at Maniford Farmhouse near Shottle. This cottage really is delightful. The views across the valley are lovely, the garden is beautifully kept, and the cottage is large and full of character. It really is perfect for a group of this sort of size. There are 3 large tables to dine around - in the dining room, the kitchen and outside on the patio. The bedrooms are spacious - including 4 poster beds in 2 of the rooms. We really couldn't fault it, and it was a lovely touch to have a delicious home-made cake waiting for us and when we arrived!

The house was lovely and very spacious. There was tea, biscuits and homemade cake provided for us which was very welcome after our long drives there. The shared games room wit the other cottages on site was fun, although not as well-maintained as the house. The location was good as, although this house is in the country the roads were good and it was easy to find. Our only complaint was that we had a little difficulty getting into the house due to a faulty lock, poor outside lighting and unclear instructions. However, this was a very minor issue which was quickly resolved and did not prevent us having a lovely weekend.

Agood property with plenty of crockery, saucepans and dishes etc. Location quite remote - we had snowy weather and slippery access to property, although our 4-wheel drive vehicles were very useful! T.V. was a bit small and the lighting in the lounge was poor. All in all a good holiday in a lovely property for a family.
