Millbrook barn was outstanding! Loads of room and comfort for a large group. Everything we could need was supplied. The farm was pristine and the owners of the barn were lovely people. They made us feel very welcome without intruding on our time. The fresh farm eggs and home made cake that was given to us when we arrived was a lovely touch. We stayed over the Christmas period and the barn had been decorated tastefully and there was even a Christmas tree. We couldn't have been more thrilled.

February 2013
The standard of the accommodation was excellent. We were all very impressed with it as soon as we arrived! We loved the space to spread out, the super hot and fast showers, the huge table to sit around, the comfortable lounge, the helpful leaflets and visitor's book, the gifts of cake, eggs, cards, flowers and toiletries, the fantastic games room with the piano, which wasn't advertised and we wished it had been, then we could have brought more music! Thank you to the owners, who really have thought of everything! We all enjoyed being in this beautiful area and found plenty to do, even though the weather wasn't too kind to us. We would love to return. There were lovely beaches and cliffs, unspoilt towns, the city of Cardiff, free museums like the Big Pit, which we really enjoyed.
Ms Foster
September 2012
The best equiped kitchen we have ever been to, and the overall standard of the property was fantastic. Although we did not have kids with us the property is great for them with the animals, football pitch and games room.

October 2011
We have just returned from a fantastic family holiday in Millbrook Barn. The accommodation was perfect for everyone - grandchildren, children and grandparents. Even in mid October the weather was kind to us and so we were able to enjoy the outdoor facilities! Indoors, everything was perfect for us - lots of space and every kind of entertainment imaginable - TVs all with DVD players, pool table, board games jigsaws and books for every age and taste. Fresh flowers and a home made cake on arrival. What more could anyone want?
Mr Scott

Liked everything. The owners could not have been more welcoming. There was a vase of fresh flowers and a freshly baked cake for us, tea, coffee, etc. They were most helpful and we had a very pleasant week at Millbrook Barn.
Mr Long
June 2012
Millbrook Barn is miles from anywhere and the perfect place to chill out and savour the tranquility of rural life. The Barn itself exceeded expectations. So much thought and care had gone into ensuring that it was perfect in every way and provided everything a family could possibly need. We wanted for nothing. It was school half term week and so, obviously, the weather was lousy most of the time, but having such a fantastic place to spend more time in than anticipated more than compensated. The owners are very friendly and approachable, and are even posting back to me an AV lead I left in the back of the TV.
Mr Parker
May 2011
The owners of Millbrook Barn have taken great care to ensure that their guests are made very welcome and have a nice relaxing holiday.
Mrs Johnston
August 2011
We had a fabulous time with a very friendly welcome. The cottage is large and very accommodating for two families with 4 young children. The facilities were outstanding and we had everything we needed to make our time so special with fond memories. The games room (and range of games provided) was a lovely touch and added to the family feel of the place. The opportunity to get closer to the sheep and horses on the farm gave the children a fantastic insight into rural life. The cottage is quite close to Abergavenny, which is large enough to have everything you need, but small enough to still have a village feel. Overall, a wonderful experience was had by all. Thank you for such a home from home.
Mrs Bailey
January 2012
The accommodation was spacious and child friendly. It was so quiet but easy to access Abergavenny and surrounding area. A beautiful spot the children loved the farm cats and the horses. Thank you for such a lovely property exactly as advertised.
Mrs Welch
April 2011
An exceptional property, of a very high standard and in a lovely spot. Lots of space, both inside and out. The cake left by the owners went down well!
Mrs Alhazeem
November 2010
We thought it would be so cold during winter but the under floor heating was the best!
May 2011
Lovely location with loads of places for children to play. Owners lived next door and couldn't do enough to help us, including having long conversations with our children while we sunbathed in the garden!
Mr O'Neill
May 2011
Millbrook Barn is great value for money. Seven of us had a very comfortable week, the owners has made it a home-from-home. The Barn has been fitted out to a very high standard. If I were to move to Wales this is the place for me.
Mr Mrs Boyer
April 2011
Millbrook farm was light, spacious and well equipped. The owners were really helpful and friendly. The games room and outside area were great for the children. The location was really peaceful and close to a number of visitor attractions.
September 2010
The owner's family made us very welcome indeed. The cottage was ideal for 2 families to stay - the football pitch outside and the pool table inside kept the kids entertained all week and there was plenty of space for us all to spread out. Loads of lovely things to do nearby - mining museum, the coast, castles, waterfalls, lovely country walks. We will definitely be back!
September 2010
Our accommodation was well thought out, as it was perfect for both the adults and the children ie. pool table and football pitch. Scenery was amazing and on the doorstep. Everything worked and clean. We found the farmer and his wife to be warm and very helpful. The area had many activities for us to do, so many, we want to go back!

August 2010
Exceptionally high standard of accommodation. Great location, easy to access lots of attractions, even though the Barn is very rural and well off the beaten track. Owners very friendly and helpful and had thought of pretty much everything you could need for your stay. Very impressed.

June 2016
Millbrook Farm is fantastic accomodation located down a country lane around the Llanddewi Rhyddech Region of Wales and is especially great for families. It has a fantastic setting on a rural property that is only 12 minutes from Abergavenny by car. The accomodation is fantastically clean, and very well appointed with great outdoor and indoor areas for kids and adults alike. I would highly recommend this facility for your next trip.

April 2016
This property was a lovely place to stay for a week near the Brecon Beacons. Plenty of space, yet homely with lots of rooms and well thought out touches e.g. piano, pool table, board games, other toys and plenty of books that kept the kids and adults entertained plus a well equipped kitchen. It is a barn so you will need to be mindful of the sloped ceilings and low beams in each room upstairs but this adds to its character. In addition to the lovely accommodation, there is a dedicated, flat, mini football pitch with balls and badminton racquets ready to use, beautiful views with sheep in the nearby fields, a friendly shire horse and sheepdog plus very helpful and lovely owners! Great rural location - you will need wellies, unless you are lucky enough to have no rain, as the barn is in a working farm at the bottom of a long farm track but not too far from plenty of places to visit. We enjoyed a muddy walk round the local area, a day at Cardiff Bay (Techniquest is great for kids of all ages), the Big Pit, LC waterpark in Swansea, boat hire along the canal at Brecon, a walk from the canal at Talybont-on-Usk to the reservoir and then round the nearby waterfalls. Many thanks to the owners (plus their grandson and his girlfriend) for taking the time and effort to make it such an enjoyable time for us all. Book it now!

June 2015
In the narrow country lanes, not 10 minutes drive from Abergavenny, lies a hidden treasure. Millbrook Barn has been beautifully renovated and modernised with a large living room and kitchen (equipped with everything one would need) and 4 well proportioned bedrooms. We had 7 people stay, including one 8 year old and a 4 year old. There was space a plenty for all and the grounds were perfect for the children to run around safely and yet still experience the adventure of exploring a working farm. What made this so special though were the owners Brenda and Peter, a lovely couple who went out of their way to make sure my family and I were made to feel very welcome. Little touches such as the fresh eggs and the homemade cake made you feel at home and their warmness towards my son Jack and his cousin letting them feed the ducks and see the sheep being sheared was amazing. I would highly recommend Millbrook Barn to any family wanting quality time together. I know my family and I will be back as soon as we can.

August 2015
8 of us had the pleasure of a week at mill brook barn, when it came to the end of our stay I could of cried. I loved the barn and it's surroundings. We sat outside most mornings and watched the farm animals grazing. The barn was spotless and In such a wonderful location. You would definitely need a car to stay here but, if you don't mind paying for taxis then it would really be up to you. When we arrived at the barn we had fresh eggs and fruit bread awaiting us. The barn had such a lovely feel to it, I would recommend it 100% if you're looking for a countryside p/rural kind of holiday away from it all.
November 2014
I rarely write reviews, but felt compelled to come and give Millbrook Barn the thumbs up as we enjoyed it so much. The barn was spotlessly clean and very welcoming with plenty of space including a lovely lounge area, ample kitchen and games room. If you want rural, this is it... complete quite with beautiful surroundings - and a 10 minute drive will take you to some amazing walking locations. There were lovely welcoming touches. A lovely cake on arrival, fresh eggs and one of the owners popping along to check we were okay. But that was pretty much the single time we saw anyone, so privacy and quietness are ensured. I can't say anything negative. The only warning I'd say is that two of the bedrooms are en-suite, and the other two have a bath but not a shower available to them. But we just shared our showers so there really was no issue. All in all, highly recommended - and after this hotels are just going to seem very mundane.
April 2013
A property that is really "off the beaten track" and " out of the ordinary". The barn conversion has been skilfully carried out to a high standard and is very well equipped and thought out. The games games room with small pool tale , Wii and board games delighted our three grandsons. They also loved the one-ton shire horse that lives on the adjoining farm! This is an ideal property for family get-togethers with out-door eating spaces and lovely views. The grandchildren are already asking to go back.
October 2013
This was our third visit to Millbrook Barn - which really says it all! The barn itself has everything you could possibly need for a wonderful family holiday - loads of space, fantastic kitchen in which we fed 12 people with ease and a great games room, complete with billiard table and piano. Brenda and Peter are wonderful hosts and everything is taken care of, including fresh flowers, home baking and a supply of fresh eggs. The icing on the cake for our granddaughters was the presence of 4 tiny kittens just across from the barn. Can't recommend it highly enough

September 2012
Eight of us, five adults and three children, loved the week we spent in Millbrook Barn. Being Half Term, it rained almost non-stop, so we really appreciated everything the barn had to offer, and staying in such a luxurious place took the edge off our disappointment over the weather. The kids loved the farm cats, and the many amusements on offer in the Games Room. The adults enjoyed the comfort, the well equipped kitchen and the isolation, miles away from the nearest town. The owners have thought of everything, plus a little bit more. Millbrook Barn is well off the beaten track, and not easy to find first time round, but it's the perfect venue for a family break. If you stay there, make sure you visit the waterfalls above Talybont- quite beautiful! Also recommended is the pony trekking centre at Llanthony:
January 2011
If you want somewhere that is away from ia all, this is the place. other than the owners cottage the only neighbours you have are horses and sheep. Yet it is only 10 mins away from abergavanney - which is a lovely local town.

October 2011
What a wonderful stay!! Unbelieveable comfort for two families with four children in total, but there was room for more!! Owners were so accomodating (thank you so much for your time, cake and basics). Great place to tour abergavenny and areas around...fanstatic places to walk, eat, enjoy. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Will definitely recommend to all our friends and family
March 2012
My familly and friends had christmas at millbroke barn. On arival christmas tree up cake on the table with a lovely note very clean warm and comfy. Kids loved the catS and horses and outside space to play. Although away from other properties close enough if you wanted a town. Perfect for us could not fault it
November 2010
Couldn't have been better - we were two families of 4 with kids from 9 to 14. Everyone loved the cottage. Big enough that we all had space (kids in the "games room" most of the time) but not so big that you felt you were knocking around in a warehouse. All mod-cons, comfortable - could not fault it. Views lovely, Abergavenny 5 minutes away, walks from the doorstep or down the road - easy access to M4 etc. Owners an absolute delight - friendly, welcoming, helpful but not in the slightest intrusive. One caveat for families with small children is that one of the two master bedrooms is up a different set of stairs from the other three bedrooms, fine for us but maybe not if you have younger children...
Mrs Morgan
November 2015
We had a really great time, the property perfect for a family holiday the setting was beautiful with so much to see and do in the area. Overall the barn was well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches.
November 2010
This was a fantastic property, very well laid out and finished to an exceptionally high standard. So well equipped it was like home from home, almost every detail had been covered and the owners who live next door couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and the standard of the cleanliness and facilities illustrate how much pride they take in their property. The location is ideal for exploring the wider area, the property is quite hard to find the first time, it's very tucked away, but once you know where it is, it's really easy to get out and about. The garden and surrounding land are perfect for kids, we were two sisters and our partners and five kids between us ranging in age between 11 and 1 and they all throughly enjoyed being in and around the house, riding bikes, talking to the horses and sheep, playing football, cricket etc and inside, the games room and TV and DVD facilities kept them all out of mischief! And that's when we weren't out for the day, Raglan Castle, Cantref Farm and Hay On Wye were all highlights and we did geocaching on the Brecon Beacons and in abergavenny. Great holiday destination, perfect property, will definitely choose it again in the future.
