We had a delightful stay at Nether Barr Farmhouse with our collie, Leo. The owner was not in residence in the other part of the property and it felt as if we were in our own private world. The view from the large picture window is stunning: garden, fields, river and hills, not another dwelling in sight. We were lucky enough to have great weather, otherwise view would be more limited.
The lounge only accomodates two chairs, no space for a sofa. The view makes up for this though and though compact the loungs/kitchen is pleasant and contains all you need. The bedroom is twin bedded and quite large. I think a king size or linked twin beds, creating a super
king, if required, would be an improvement. The bathroom is a good size with bath and efficient and hot over bath shower. Accommodation was heated well. No wifi except in the towns. Garden was ideal for Leo, plenty of space and well enclosed.
The one mile walkway/cycle path to Newton Stewart is a great advantage. Safe for dogs (but look out for one place where there is an open gate to the road) and a pretty walk, it will bring you out at Sainsburys and Aldi.
