Area
Located at the foot of Buckden Pike, and close to the head of Upper Wharfedale, the idyllic village of Buckden is the perfect place to start exploring the wonderful scenery and pretty towns of this magnificent Dale. Much of Upper Wharfedale is owned by the National Trust and is composed of dry-stone walls and barns, important flower-rich hay meadows and valleyside woodland. Renowned for its walking routes, this region is home to the famous Dales Way, which passes close to Buckden Pike. The village itself is comprised of a cluster of stone built cottages and houses set around a traditional green. The village is also home to the famous ‘Buck Inn' – a Georgian coaching pub that retains much of its old charm.

Region
From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

In a great location. The property was very well equipped and extremely cosy and comfortable. It was lovely to stay on a farm with the animals all around. The bird hides and walks from the door were added bonuses. There was so much wildlife.

This is a lovely cottage to return to after a days walking or touring around. Very comfortable beds and lovely to have two en-suite rooms. The accommodation is well organised and it is beautifully furnished with a mix of new and old. We loved it! The wood burning stove is great too. The field study centre is interesting with lots of literature and things to amuse children and adults alike. There is also an excellent telescope there. Tim looked after us very well and gave us a guided tour of Bertha the bio-mass boiler. We also enjoyed some home baked bread and some delicious flapjack. All in all it was an excellent place to stay and we would highly recommend it. It is remote so you have to love the peace and quiet! Several good walks in the immediate neighbourhood.

Chris and Fiona have done a beautiful job of converting this Byre. Amazingly comfortable beds, lovely sitting room with wood-burner, fantastic flapjack on arrival. This is a perfect location if you like walking and bird-watching. The two hides offer opportunities to see peregrines, dippers, siskins, kestrels, buzzards and a variety of smaller birds. Would recommend to anyone.

What a lucky find this holiday farm was. The scenery around the farm is stunning. The grandchildren were free to roam, paddle in the stream, birdwatch from the hides and visit the bull and shorthorn cattle. A very safe environment. The roads around the farm are quite tight and you really go over the hill and down the dale. Places to visit nearby. Hawes is a lovely little town approx 7 miles away, Skipton and Rippon are also very pleasant. We were lucky to be there when several agricultural shows were taking place and well worth a visit. The hosts Chris and Fiona made us so welcome and we enjoyed home baked bread and flapjack which was delicious.
