Norton View Farm Family Cottage description

Holiday home
Norton View Farm is a detached property in the Dales village of Hetton. The accommodation here is well-suited for family and friends, with two king-size doubles, both with en-suites, a twin room and a further twin room with two extra stacker beds. The twin rooms are served by a modern bathroom, and there is an additional basin and WC downstairs. The spacious kitchen has a breakfast bar, there is a dining room, a utility and boot room, a sitting room and a snug with a sofabed. Outside are lovely gardens with a private hot tub, and there is off road and roadside parking for up to six cars. With walking from the doorstep and the Dales waiting to be discovered, Norton View Farm is a wonderful year-round base.

The lovely town of Skipton is often referred to as The Gateway to the Dales;. Close by is the cathedral city of York, the Lake District and the West Coast, making this an incredibly central location. Skipton itself is an old market town and still continues the tradition to this day. It also boasts an ancient castle open to the public and a beautiful old parish church. With regular steam train excursions running at the weekend, visitors can enjoy a trip on the Embsay Steam Railway - just one mile away - or experience a canal trip on a traditional barge. There are also facilities for golf, swimming, squash, tennis and snooker.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

The house is so beautiful but not to the point that you feel you dare not move or touch things. We found the bed linen to be amazingly comfortable. The location was perfect which meant that we could use the hot tub in reasonable privacy; we didn't feel that we had to be extra quiet or be too concerned about others nearby. It was also ideally located being 10 minutes from Skipton, Grassington and close to so many other lovely places. We loved it!

The cottage was so modern and the perfect design that it really made the perfect base location for me (the bride) and my 8 bridesmaids to prepare for our most special of days. The size of the cottage meant everyone could enjoy spending time together as well as providing the opportunity for privacy. The hot tub with scenic surroundings was particularly fabulous, even in the rain!

Spent a long weekend with friends in this wonderful place to celebrate my 50th birthday. Norton View is a truly stunning property - lovely village location, amazing views from the back of the house, a very welcome hot tub, and has everything you could possibly want. It has been very tastefully renovated, fabulous bathrooms, really comfortable beds, cosy living room, massive kitchen complete with all equipment, utensils etc, and all spotlessly clean. A lot of original features remain, so although there are all the mod cons, the house still has plenty of Yorkshire Dales character. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Absolutely fantastic place - will definitely go back!
March 2014
just arrived back from Norton view farm what a absolutely fantastic cottage way above we ever imagined. went with a group of 10 family and friends and have been doing so for the last 10 years and this has to be the best , so much so we have just booked again. everything you could possibly need is available in this 5 star accomadation. The hot tub and views have to be my favourite aspect but inside this luxurious accommodation is also truly breathtaking, cannot wait for next year.

We stayed in Norton View Farm as an extended family, ages ranging from 4-86yrs. Everyone of us was thrilled when we first entered the property, it def has the wow factor. There are 2 very large superkingsize rooms with fab ensuites, a twin with pull out beds, accomodating 2 adults and 2 young children comfortably, a twin and a sofa type bed in the snug. The family bathroom had a roll top bath plus walk in shower. The garden is designed to appear to include an adjacent field, giving the feel that the sheep/chickens etc are in the garden! The hot tub is a definate pull, we enjoyed a few glasses of fizz while relaxing. The owners were helpful and all information was in the house when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked, dining table huge and allowed sociable evening games of cards etc. Would highly recommend and would visit again!!
December 2012
The cottage was everything we had hoped for and more. Exceptionally clean and fantastically furnished. Extremely well equipped kitchen and a practical boot room that coped with all our outdoor gear. The area was full of lovely walks and great for Skipton which had a fantastic choice of eateries. Would love to visit Norton View Farm again as we felt we didn't complete our list of "things to do" and "places to visit" lists !

We have just had a few days at Norton View with our 3 year old grandson and a30th birthday celebration The photos dont do the property justice. A lot of thought has gone into the renevation and decoration of this house. The oak used in the house is fantastic from the enormouse dining table that seats 11 to the oak doors and staircase. There is a huge kitchen equipt with everything you could possibly need. Everywhere is spotless and really comfy beds and well equipt bathrooms. The hot tub was a favorite with a fantastic view over the hills and a large garden laid to grass ideal for football. I would definatly recomend this accommodation and would love to have been able to live there..

The cottage is fantastic. By far the best holiday rental me and my friends stayed in. We spent 3 nights for a relaxing hen party and It couldn't have been better! The views are great, the jacuzzi is something else, and the baby lambs at the bottom of the garden are so cute... The cottage inside is beautiful with so much space, and the beds are AMAZING. We probably could fit four of us in each double bed!!! Mrs Carr is also very helpful and the added complimentary biscuits, dishwasher tablets etc. made our stay extra special. I would recommend this cottage to any group wanting a countryside break!
September 2012
I had my hen party here, there were 11 of us and we were all surprised at how gorgeous the place was. The interior is just stunning, it looks like no expense was spared when decorating. The view from the garden is amazing, we all thoroughly enjoyed the luxury of a hot tub. We made use of the BBQ and were able to sit outside to enjoy the warm night. We all had a fantastic time. My friends and I are eager to go back again, and will be making a repeat booking soon.

In the past we have rented a number of cottages and houses for our family holiday, this ranks amongst the very best. The cleanliness in all areas of the property is superb. The house is tastefully furnished and caters well for a large party. There is everything you want in the very large and modern kitchen. The large dining room caters well for diners with a good sized table and chairs to seat everyone. The sitting room is somewhat small but has ample comfortable sofas. The bedroooms are of a good size with comfortable beds and well equipped modern bathrooms. The view from the garden is fantastic with an uninterrupted view across the countryside. The hot tub was well used for relaxation by most of our party and all enjoyed chilling out. Hetton is within "striking distance" of Skipton and the rest of the Dales with plenty to do for all ages. We had a wonderful holiday. Thank you!
May 2012
Me and my friends have just stayed in this beautiful cottage for my friends hen weekend. There was 10 of us, all aged 21 or 22. We were looking for something luxurious and fairly remote but not too far from local amenities and we couldn't have found anything more perfect if we had tried. The house is absolutely stunning, all of us commented on how pictures just do not do it justice. The decor and furnishings were gorgeous, the beds SO comfy and the view from the cottage was breathtaking. The cottage is very spacious and perfect for a group of friends or a large family. We had a weekend of sunshine so were able to sit in the garden every day we were there. The sheep were definitely a talking point, especially the lambs! :D I can not say enough positive things about this cottage and the owners! I called the owner yesterday to inform her that i had left some of my belongings at the cottage and to see if she would post them back to me and she couldn't have been any more helpful or friendly! I definitely would return to the amazing place, me and the girls have already talked about returning again next year if we can. Do not hesitate to book, i promise you will not regret it! :)
April 2012
I shouldn't say a word because the place will get booked out, but the owner is lovely and I wish her every success! The cottage is the most beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean house I've ever been in, with so much character, and the view from the hot tub is amazing. Great social spaces, lovely dining area, beautifully equipped throughout. Gorge walking at How Stean and the Three Peaks Challenge are nearby for the energetic, with Harrogate Baths, tea and cakes for the rest of us! The local pub is brilliant for dinner too, with great beer. Definitely going back.

There were 11 of us staying over the weekend at this farmhouse. We found the house very spacious, with excellent facilities. The rooms are amazing, and everything is finnished to a high standard. It is very comfortable and there is a good outside space with excellent views. The hot tub was not high on the agenda whilst searching for a rental, but when you go and stay here you must try it. It is amazing, and now a minimum requirment for anywhere else we stay! We had lunch at the pub nearby, and it was very good. We also went to the trout farm at, for a bit of fishing. Its a great spot, and the little pond they have set up for the children looks great. We will be back here again, really enjoyed the stay. Top class.
