Number 4 Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
Number 4 is a semi-detached barn conversion on a farm a mile from Biggin in Derbyshire. The cottage has two king-size doubles, which can be offered as twins if required. There is a ground floor bathroom, and an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Outside is off road parking and a shared lawned garden with picnic tables and a duck pond. Number 4 makes an ideal base for enjoying the Peaks, from Buxton to Bakewell, Chatsworth to Alton Towers.

Biggin is a small, 13th century rural village ideally located for the Dove and Manifold valleys in the Peak District National Park, with a church and pub serving good food. Close by are National Trust owned Dovedale, the Tissington Trail, the village of Hartington with its famous cheese shop and market towns including Buxton and Ashbourne. Wonderful surrounding countryside allows for great walking and cycling, and Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are well worth a visit.

The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Oil central heating. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, TV with Freeview, DVD. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. The field just around the corner was perfect for the dogs. I loved the open plan layout of the cottage.

Well equipped just doesn't cover this cottage! An added bonus was the zip-lock beds, meaning you can choose to have either two double or two single rooms. It was nice to be staying on a working farm, where the nearest neighbours were Poppy and Maggie (two donkeys in a nearby field). There were plenty of other animals around too - sheep, cows, ducks and chickens. There were beautiful local walks, right from the door - absolutely perfect for walkers and very dog friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

It was a good base for exploring the Peak District. The accommodation was comfortable and clean, a great base for our holiday. The views were spectacular and the villages quaint. We were also very lucky with the weather only rained one evening and one morning. The rest of the time there was sunshine and some clouds.
