A wonderful location, Masham is a fabulous little town. A very clean and sufficiently spacious for 10 property, literally 2 minutes walk from town/pubs/breweries etc. An excellent location for exploring.

Great location in a lovely village setting. Open living space was lovely, great family get together. Loved the windows at the front, looking out over gorgeous autumnal trees.

The property was perfect for our party of 10 and we were all extremely comfortable. We had everything we needed and everything was spotless. The proximity to local amenities was an added bonus.

It was a perfect house for a group of friends. We all loved Masham, and the fact that the house was not very far to the shops and pubs.

A delightful house it was full of character charm. Our family had a wonderful holiday. The situation of the house being close to the centre of Masham with all it's amenities was excellent.

We had a great holiday at the Old Chapel Post House. The property was ideal for our needs, being a large all-male group, and it provided us with a perfect base for our week of walks in the surrounding Dales. It was nice to stay somewhere with a bit of period character that also had all the mod cons and comforts we required - with shops and pubs just a few minutes walk away. The view from the main living room across the surrounding hills had real 'wow' factor too.

The space within the open plan living area was amazing. The bathrooms were always lovely and warm. The area of Masham is beautiful. The Co op is a 90 second walk behind the property. Brilliant pubs, quaint shops, places to eat and brewery to visit. An hours drive to beautiful York or Leeds.

The location was great. A very quick walk into Masham and close to all shops, bars, cafe etc. The accommodation was set out really well, with ten people it felt comfortable and everyone commented on how great the building was. We would book this accommodation again tomorrow!

The accommodation was perfect for our needs. We had a group of nine on a stag do and the owner could not have been more helpful. It was in the perfect location for local pubs and everyone had a great time.

The view from the Chapel living area window was magnificent and it was an ideal spot for exploring the area. It was also in easy walking distance of the Masham breweries. We were surprised how lovely Masham was.

Everything - the location was excellent and the accommodation was absolutely fantastic. We would definitely come here again and would certainly recommend it to family and friends. We have stayed in cottages before and this was by far the best equipped. A big thank you to the owners!

Size of the property, there were 10 of us and there was plenty of room for everyone - even if they wanted a bit of space alone. Masham is a lovely village with lots of amenities, especially places to eat, buy local fresh produce and there are lots of interesting places to visit - all a short distance away - walks, caverns, castles, gorges. We all had a brilliant holiday.

Masham is a lovely friendly place. The building itself is stunning and the inside is set up to feel like a home from home. It looked like the owners really wanted us to feel comfortable - towels provided, plenty of crockery and cutlery, washing up materials etc. I took my daughters and their friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Very well situated in Masham. It was one of the coldest weekends this year (first weekend of snow). We were very warm and had to turn the radiators down! Overall an excellent holiday home.

The setting, the village was lovely plenty to do, locals friendly. It was close enough to Ripon and Thirsk to go for the day, York a bit further but worth visiting. Plenty to do in surrounding countryside.

We have visited Masham many times so were very pleased to find a single property to house us all. The condition of the property was excellent with great character.

The kitchen/living space meant cooking could be sociable. It was an easy walk to all of the town, local pubs, the Black Sheep Brewery and the countryside without having to use the car to get to places.

An interesting conversion with convenient access to the town and nearby Co-op (2 minute walk). Made a great venue for my Christmas with a lovely living area upstairs. A few things to note are that everyone (yes everyone) will stare into the house with even the odd tourist taking a few pictures. Another thing is that the sound upstairs can travel downstairs so it's hard to get an early night but a great place to stay

Kitchen too small although well equipped really would benefit from a dishwasher. Nowhere to put clothes away, no wardrobes or drawers which was very disappointing. Having said that the furnishings, decoration etc.. were excellent a really comfortable stay which we all really enjoyed.

Brought the family together in one place at Christmas. Great weather; just enough snow. Excellent location in Masham with easy access to pubs and local walks. The property was warm, clean, and well equipped.

An extended family group of 8 of us stayed here in august 2011. There are lots of positives about the property, the location being one of them. It is perfectly located for older people (hardly any distance to walk into Masham and all its delights) and younger ones (the exceptionally good play area is immediately opposite the house). The view from the large church windows is fabulous. Also good is the quality of the furnishings etc. However, we did feel that for a property that sleeps 10 the living area is compromised. The kitchen is tiny with little storage space for food; there a smallish fridge and there is no dishwasher, which in our experience is unusual. The kitchen is also part of the living area and I think we were lucky that the weather was good while we were there as it would have been quite claustrophic had it not have been.

We all loved the OldChapel Post House. It was clean and warm with lovely views. The location was also lovely with many walks. Shops and pubs nearby. We all loved the friendly pubs with their open fires. We had two small dogs in our party and we were made to feel welcome with them. The only negative was no freezer.

Excellent large accomodation for a big family group or group of friends, we stayed with four other adult couples (and 2 dogs!) and managed perfectly well for a long weekend. Excellent location in the centre of the village, lots of shops and pubs/restaurants nearby and loads of great walks on the doorstep. The accomodation is spotlessly clean and well stocked with everything you might need for a home from home break.

Stayed at the old chapel post house for a long weekend with family and other animals. There were 8 of us in total and it was big enough, just. It is easy to find and a great location for a walk to the local amenities. The rooms are all functional with doubles/singles. Not much hanging space but not a problem for a short break. Kitchen is ok size wise, but has enough equipment to cater for most chefs, if you want too cook - there are enough places to eat out locally if you want to sample some restaurants. It was very clean and tidy. No wifi, so supply of games was welcome and good fun. Slight downsides, we all reported soft mattresses, but that is taste and showers weren't power, but we were all clean. Would recommend for group of friends/families.

Nice property, well equipped, comfy beds, there was only really 2 things that were a let down, firstly the property is advertised as 4x doubles and 1x twin that can be made into a double upon request, we requested 5x doubles but on arrival we had 4x doubles 1x twin, there was no way to make the 2 singles into a 'locked' double so they just had to be pushed together, so its not really and never will be a 'double'. The other problem was that there is an adjacent 2 person cottage (which can be rented via Sykes) and the occupants of that were playing loud music long into the early hours, we're talking 4 and 5am, on 2 or 3 nights which took the gloss off what was otherwise an enjoyable stay. I think Sykes need to take more care of who they offer lets to and if it wasn't them that let the small cottage then they need to contact the owners or drop it from their portfolio.
