Holiday home Situated on the end of the original farmhouse and boasting lovely views across the surrounding gardens and open countryside, this delightful cottage is a wonderful stone built barn conversion. Sympathetically converted from lovely old stone barns and buildings, this is one of a group of magnificent properties which have been lovingly renovated around an idyllic courtyard just five minutes walk from the delightful village of Gilling West. The cottage features an open-plan living area with exposed beams, French doors leading to an enclosed garden and picture windows.
Area The peaceful Dales village of Gilling West is a lovely, attractive little town and was winner of the 'Yorkshire in Bloom' award. Set in lovely rolling countryside just a few miles to the north of the popular market town of Richmond, Gilling West is well supplied by local amenities and offers not only a lovely old church, but also two pubs, both of which serve food, as well as a post office. Richmond itself contains a magnificent Georgian Theatre and an imposing, ruined medieval castle that overlooks the River Swale. The area is full of footpaths and bridleways, criss-crossing the picturesque landscape in every direction and excellent fishing facilities are available nearby. This wonderful town makes an idea base for exploring all of Swaledale and Teesdale, regardless of the time of year.

The cottage was in a fantastic location with outstanding views. The cottage had everything we could have wanted and more. They really thought about the customer when equipping the place. We'll definitely want to go again.
Old Mill Cottage was really superb, the setting was excellent and everything was provided to a high standard. Very impressive indeed!
having stayed at various cottages throughout the country this one was amongst the very best.
The accommodation was in excellent condition and the location was peaceful and relaxing.
Lovely property in a excellent location.
The location and views were brilliant.
A quiet location. A wonderful 3 days and I am sure we will return.
We had stayed before so knew that the situation would be ideal for a break with my Mother who is 94 years old. The cottage is light and only one step into the property. The views are lovely as are the grounds. The private patio was also good as we only ventured out for half days so used it a lot. The super weather made it a very relaxing holiday.
Lovely cottage, private garden, nice area.
We have had many cottage hols, this one is definitely the best we have stayed in. Superb quality overall. Very well equipped. Ideal area for visiting many places. Close to village. Cottage in beautiful surroundings.
The accommodation at the Old Mill Cottage was excellent; the cottage was clean, very comfortable, with everything provided (all of the best quality) and the owners were very friendly and helpful.
