Our Storey description

Our Storey is nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac in the peaceful coastal village of Boulmer. This detached single-storey property is very well furnished throughout and enjoys lovely views across open farmland to the rear. Boulmer (pronounced Boomer) is a pretty coastal village with very little through traffic. Once the haunt of smugglers, it is one of the true Northumbrian fishing villages which remains virtually untouched by time. Meander along the water’s edge and watch the fishermen return with their daily catch of lobsters, crabs and salmon.

The historic market town of Alnwick, dominated by its dramatic fortress, offers a wide range of amenities including a playhouse/cinema, indoor swimming pool and an excellent array of restaurants, shops, tea rooms and pubs only six miles inland. Take time to visit Barter Books, one of the largest secondhand bookshops in Britain, or discover the magnificent Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts! Alnwick Garden, a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden including a grand cascade waterfall and poison garden where guests can dine in the restaurant of the largest tree house in Europe, is also well worth a visit. Less than a three mile walk along the beach is the picture postcard village of Alnmouth where a variety of good restaurants, pubs, tea rooms and gift shops for the discerning visitor can be enjoyed. Sailing enthusiasts can make use of the yacht and small boat moorings within the sheltered estuary. Golfing enthusiasts will delight in the two courses close by, one being a fine 9-hole course adjacent to the beach and the other being a challenging 18-hole course at Foxton enjoying panoramic views. Our Storey is situated on National Cycle Route 1 making this property particularly suitable for keen cyclists.
