Pasture Cottage description

Holiday home
This stone built cottage is situated at the heart of the popular Dales village of Embsay, located under two miles from Skipton town. Set over three storeys and featuring a wonderful first floor sitting room with open fire and balcony - boasting excellent views - a garden and two bedrooms, the cottage is well suited to a small family or two couples. The well-equipped kitchen boasts a Rayburn oven, whilst the spacious second floor bedroom offers views over Embsay Crag. Guests to this lovely property are well placed for access to local amenities and activities.

The Dales village of Embsay shows signs of settlement from ancient times, including a stone circle dating back to the Bronze Age and a 12th Century monastery. Today it is popular amongst walkers and steam railway enthusiasts, who visit the region for the range of beautiful walks through the surrounding countryside and the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway - both of which offer award-winning station buildings and steam trains. The Old Mill in the village centre is now home to a needlecraft store and coffee shop, whilst all the amenities and attractions of Skipton town are close by. Other popular places to visit within easy reach include Bolton Abbey, Kilnsey and Grassington.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

The cottage was lovely and warm and always lots of very hot water, the Rayburn was a lovely added bonus. The television in the sitting room was good and with a second one in the dining room was ideal, with our little granddaughter in tow, she could watch her programmes as she wanted. The open fire was very cosy, and added to the Christmas feel.

The cottage was a good base for us, we enjoyed the walks and the sights. The Elm Tree Pub was great, people very friendly, and so close to the cottage that we ate there every night.

Everything was great. The village and the cottage was so cosy. So much to see and do in the area. Would recommend to anyone visiting this part of Yorkshire
July 2013
Lovely location, view from living room is great. Handy for pubs in Embsay and steam railway to Bolton abbey. Not too far a drive for shops in Skipton. Well-equipped kitchen. Only real negative was lots of stairs as it's narrow and on three floors - which carrying a baby up was a bit wearing after a couple of days.
June 2013
We had a very chilled time. The house was lovely and warm and had all facilities that we was near to Skiptontouristinformation and that was a little gem of a town. The local pub a few hundred yards away sold reasonably priced food and was welcoming
August 2011
A lovely traditional cottage in a good village location. Clean, tidy with everything we needed, the children loved the three storey layout. The selection of books and information was a nice touch.
March 2011
A well equipped cottage offering value for money but not really suitable for a luxurious experience. The cottage was warm but basic and could have been cleaner but if people must take dogs on holiday then probably OK.
