Mrs Hughes
July 2016
We had such a lovely relaxing holiday, the only thing wrong was it had to end. The two weeks went so quick. You felt right in the middle of nowhere but not far from anywhere, even our dog enjoyed it. Would recommend it to anyone.
Mr Droge

Pen y fron is a very beautiful cottage, in a quiet surrounding. Beautifully restored house.
Mrs Rose
March 2016
The remote location of this cottage was perfect, no internet here just total relaxation. The town folk of Llanrwst were very friendly and helpful. The cottage had a way of wrapping itself around you, it was so welcoming. The only sounds were sheep bleating and the birds, heaven. There was great walking and fantastic views. Words cannot express the tranquillity of this cottage holiday.
Mrs Chambers

A lovely cosy cottage seeped in history that just wraps itself around you as you walk in. It was spotlessly clean well equipped, an absolute joy, with peace and quiet in abundance excellent views across the valley. There were excellent walks access to many places of interest. It is a credit to the owners who have lovingly restored it.

Tho was our second visit to Pen y Fron and it was again excellent. It is impossible to say what we liked particularly about the cottage as the whole experience is good. It is probably the most comfortable and cosy cottage we have visited and is just as good in mid winter as it is in early summer. We shall be back for visit 3!
Mrs Pink

An idyllic and secluded location yet only a 5 minute drive from pubs, shops and restaurants. A cosy and very comfortable cottage which has been very tastefully renovated with the bonus of a large enclosed garden. Particularly liked the summer house (we ate outside every day) and the log fire (which we used every night!).

A delightful cottage with everything we needed for our holiday. It was warm with a lovely open fire and the bed was really comfy too. Lots of land outside for the dog to run around safely and explore. He loved it! It was clean and well maintained and set back from main road, really quiet. There were lots of birds and squirrels outside to watch. Ideally situated for Snowdonia and the town of Llanrwst has all you need for day to day needs and was only a few minutes drive away.

March 2012
The cottage was cosy, comfortable and had lovely views over the hills. The open fire was great and the garden was beautiful and safe for the dogs to run around in. We had some nice days and managed to sit in the garden and enjoy the peace. The area is beautiful with lots to see and do. We enjoyed the Miner's Track to Snowdon, Llandudno, Conwy and Betws-y-Coed. The Ty Asha Indian restaurant in Llanrwst is excellent and well worth a try. A very relaxing and enjoyable holiday in all and would love to return to Pen-Y-Fron again soon.
Miss Loftus

The property is beautiful and well-equipped, the garden/ grounds are lovely and the location offers seclusion while not being too far from the local town and shops. The peace, quiet and solitude but you were only a short journey to the mountains or coast. The cottage we stayed in was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to book with your company again everything was so easy and organised. Thank-you
Mrs Kennard
August 2011
Stunning setting in a beautiful rural location yet perfectly placed for sightseeing as only 20 minutes from the coast and mountains. The cottage was small yet perfectly equipped for four people and the chairs in the lounge were very comfortable - made it feel like home, brilliant! Also loved the fact that the keys were at the property in a secure safe so much less stressful than meeting someone at a set time.
Mrs McArdle
October 2011
Pen-y-Fron was quaint and cosy with an inglenook fireplace, comfortable beds, and was very clean and with all the facilities you would need. The surrounding garden was large and charming and because it is so rural it is almost like a nature reserve with all kinds of unusual birds and woodland animals such as squirrels and rabbits. Wales itself is very rugged and beautiful and because we like hill walking we found many beautiful places to visit and walk around and up, including Mount Snowdon! For a town visit we particularly liked Llandudno and also traveled further afield to Chester, passing through beautiful Welsh countryside to get to our destinations.
Mrs Peck
July 2011
The cottage and its location was the best I have ever stayed in. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be trying to book it again for next year.
Mrs Forder
August 2011
The location was lovely, and there were a number of thoughtful additions like the books about local flora and fauna which we much appreciated. We could not have loved the garden or the location of the cottage more, and all was excellently presented. The owner was most helpful.

Sat for hours on a sunny day looking at view from front door enjoying nothing but odd tractor in the distance and the bird song from trees in vast garden around cottage can only score it 9/10 as I don't live there otherwise it would be 10/10
Mrs Parkinson
June 2012
Large gardens - fabulous for the dogs. Peaceful tranquility and loved the amount of wildlife in the garden. A whole sense of being away from it all! Ideal location and one of the best cottages we have been in. Above and beyond our expectations - thank you!

August 2013
my friend and I had a wonderful stay at this glorious cottage and didn't want to leave!!! Our two small dogs thought it was heaven having such a large garden to chase around in. It was lovely to watch the birds at the feeder just outside and we saw birds we have never seen before, the cottage was beautiful, clean, comfortable and spacious, the best we have ever stayed in and would love to come back year after year if it was just a little nearer for us!!! Llanrwst is lovely down by the river with a very nice teashop and walks and not far to drive to Llandudno which is really nice. The location is excellent for many places of interest.

July 2014
An ideal cottage for a small family and a dog. The cottage is in a large enclosed garden and even our lively terrier could not get out. The cottage is on its own, surrounded by hills and distant farms, although it is only minutes away from the small town of Llanrwst. My wife loved the Rayburn cooker and the crockery and cutlery. I am rather tall so I had to duck when entering the upstairs rooms, but the bedrooms and bathroom were of a very high standard. The owners were very helpful when we telephoned them. The location is ideally placed for visiting the mountains of Snowdonia and is only a few miles from the popular town of Betwys-y-Coed.

The cottage was exactly what we had wanted-away from neighbours, very well appointed and clean. It had the most amazing views and a large garden. The nearby village had enough shops for all our needs-always a plus when on holiday. We especially enjoyed the area and lots of lovely walks and even managed to climb Snowden before my husband broke his arm!.( The hospital at Bangor was also good should you need it.)

This cottage was ideal for a family holiday, secluded and quiet but close to all amenities. The garden is large and children friendly with plenty of places to run and explore. My young children loved running out every morning and saying morning to the cows and I loved the fact that I knew they were totally safe and secure. It was fabulous that the owners were "hands off" but nice to know that they were always at the end of a phone. The cottage was very well equipped, just ideal for families with young children, the stair gate was one of the reasons that I booked this cottage!!! My family are still talking about the cottage and holiday and we are going to return again very soon. All at a very reasonable price.

This cottage is beautiful. From the country cottage kitchen with a Rayburn to the range in the living room where you can light a real fire. There is everything you could need and for those with young children there are two stair gates and a travel cot was provided. There are no direct neighbours so it feels extremely peaceful, however, llanwrst is two minutes away with shops for your groceries. The co-op is a good size and not too expensive. The owners are so helpful but do not interfere unless you need them. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone.

What a fantastic place to stay. We have had a brilliant week. The cottage was lovely. All your needs are catered for. An open log fire which we did not light due to the unusually hot weather for this time of the year. A well equipped kitchen and clean, tastefully furnished living areas. The gardens were beautiful and we were greeted every morning with the chattering of the birds on the feeders. We saw so many different kinds each day. One night we were woken with the sound of an owl screech. An eerie sound for those that have not had the experience. The cottage is the perfect base for walking in Snowdonia National park or visiting the many sights in North Wales. The town of Llanrwst was about 20 minute walk down the lane, maybe a little rural if wanting to walk to village pub(s) and back, but has a wonderful butcher (Jones) for those bbq moments and one of the best Indian takeaways. The Ty Ashi Balti house. The food was excellent and seemed a lot cheaper than we'd pay at home. (thats a seperate review). A selection of the local shops to choose from. However, of the two mini markets I would choose the Co op as the Spar seemed a bit free with its prices. I would highly recomend the cottage for those who like to escape but by not too far.

July 2011
We have just come back from this cottage and really didn't want to. It really is a beautiful part of the world and so close to much of the beauty of Snowdonia and the Conwy areas. Everything in the cottage is accommodating and it has clearly been lived in and chersihed, as everything is so well thought out and was obviously once a working smallholding, with hens and a polytunnel for all the fruit and veg! All ready for cooking on the fabulous Rayburn in the kitchen. Even the dutch barn had a washing line, for those rainy days. Scenery and views were stunning and were shared with dairy cattle, birds, comical squirrels and sheep. The buzzards soared daily and we were entertained by the ever melodious songthrush. Enjoyed a barbeque in the pretty summerhouse too. Not for those afraid of solitude, or in want of night life, but If you're like me and look for total peace and breathtaking views, it really is just what the doctor ordered. We really weren't keen on coming home at all and can't wait to return in the autumn.

My daughter and myself really enjoyed our week and we took our dogs with us. They were really at home and enjoyed investigating the beautiful grounds to the cottage. We felt very lucky to have found such a lovely place and will definitely be going again hopefully next year.

This is a fabulous cottage amidst peaceful countryside/farmland. Beautifully kept cottage and garden. Beds extremely comfortable and roll-top bath and Rayburn a real bonus. Within walking distance of lovely town centre featuring spectacular riverside walks, historic church and popular 'Tal y Bont' cafe. Highly recommended.
